John Pleisse Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Not to get too far off Mooney topics....but this guy is a smooth operator. Ice? Zero viz? Mountain obscuration? Grizzly Bears on the runway? No biggy!!! There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no "Old-Bold Pilots". Quote
flyboy0681 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Typical "reality" garbage. They are having us believe that this was his one and only approach to the dirt runway because it was so "dangerous" and one slight mistake would be catastrophic. But you don't have to watch it that carefully to see that in some shots while on short final the windscreen is totally dry and in another shot it's raining. What can this mean other than the producers had him make several approaches for dramatic effect? There are actually two shots made just as the wheels hit the ground, one with a dry window, the other totally wet. Now don't get me wrong, I think these guys have one helluva set of cajones. Certainly a lot more than me. Quote
