Ocalafly Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 How does one remove the tail cone off of a M20J. Need to touchup it up. The other day when landing, wind gust caused plane to hit rear tie down and tail cone scuffing both. Want to remove tail cone so that I can touch it up. Is it the removal of 3 screws like the C/D series? Quote
Raptor05121 Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 Mine has 6 screws- 3 on each side. Comes right off. You'll need to unplug the tail light- there should be a quick connector to do so Quote
Ocalafly Posted November 21, 2016 Author Report Posted November 21, 2016 Raptor Thanks for the quick reply. I know that the C model has 3 screws on each side, but am not sure if the J model is the same. I wasn't able to locate the scews but instead found rivets. So I'm not sure if the removal procedure is the same. By the way, how are you enjoying your plane. I assume you did pick it up on monday as planned. Quote
Raptor05121 Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 Does your rudder extend all the way to include the tailcone? And yes, I have her back. Wonderful plane. Quote
Guest Posted November 22, 2016 Report Posted November 22, 2016 It is not really meant to be removed and reinstalled as in the earlier models. Clarence Quote
