Pictreed Posted August 6, 2016 Report Posted August 6, 2016 I started upgrading my instrument panel. I recently got my plane back and I'm really liking it. Looking forward to getting it closer to what I want but this is acceptable for now. I had to make 2 trips from Fort Worth to Oklahoma City last week and it was great...very happy right now. My avionics guy rearranged the instruments for now to a 6 pack layout. Much easier on me. This pic doesn't show the Avidyne transponder or the ADS-B IN box. Next upgrade will be an audio panel and maybe the JPI 9xx. Tim 1 Quote
Raptor05121 Posted August 6, 2016 Report Posted August 6, 2016 Mine also has that layout (sans the plastic trim panel covering them). I'd really like to get a new CNC-cut 6-pack panel. That little round one above the yoke just ruins the layout. Quote

Marauder Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 BTW -- it was good seeing you at Oshkosh! Quote
Mscheuer Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 It was a most excellent show! We had 7 media organizations at our booth for a Monday morning press conference. I have never had so much interest in new products that we had on July 25th. It is always good to speak with you, I gain much knowledge. Mark 1 Quote

Mscheuer Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Unfortunately, unlike larger companies that have budgets for donating products, we are a small but focused group and use some of our profits to better our community. PS Engineering is a financial supporter of Remote Area Medical (www.ramusa.org) and to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters National program (http://bbbscm.org) Where is your Summit being held this year? And when it is, maybe I can set up a booth? Mark 1 Quote

Check out http://www.mooneysummit.com/ which will be held for the 4th year in Panama City Beach FL, under 3 Mooney hours from Knoxville - 4+ in a Cherokee? A donation to Summit might well pay for itself in leads/referrals. 3 Quote
carusoam Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Always thinking outside the box, Bob! Mooney Summit... Highly concentrated with individuals with planes. The people are engaged in updating what they know, and seeking to learn something new. I would bet that if Marauder had one of these cool new BT audio panels, we would see a few more photos of his instrument panel and a few less photos of his herd of friends... This could be good for all people with eyes and ears. Best regards, -a- 4 Quote

Mark Thanks Mark, we accept donations from a Lot of very small, but industry leading companies, like B-Kool, Elite Etc, Lear Chemical, Nav Strobe lighting, Tri City aero, and individuals like Don Muncy, Carol Ann Garratt to name but just a few. We also have corporate sponsors like L3, Lightspeed, Concorde, Garmin, Jeppesen, Weep no More, Premier and Mooney. All of the proceeds go to our aviation specific charity, the Bill Gilliland foundation, to provide crisis intervention and financial assistance to downed Mooney Pilot's families. We host the Mooney Summit every year in Panama City Beach, Fl. in the beginning of October to provide education, training, and to better the breed of the Mooney Pilot. While not a trade show, Companies like Avidyne, L3, King, have/will give presentations of interest, all for wings credit. These Companies have all, without exception, realized a benefit that far exceeded their cost as have all that have made a donation to our event. I hope you reconsider, feel free to reach out to me for more details. mike.elliott at mooneysummit.com 2 Quote

You mean like this?: The reason I mentioned my 8000BT was that Mark almost has me convinced to move up to the 450A/B. Just having a hard time buying a new audio panel while I have a nice 8000BT in the panel. I might consider it if I got a decent trade-in price for it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

Pictreed Posted August 8, 2016 Author Report Posted August 8, 2016 Mark, I was going for that audio panel until I found out Avidyne's audio panel will allow me to monitor Com2 on the IFD440. The Garmin unit I had installed for the 2nd Nav/com is a really nice unit as well. The monitor button on it actually mutes the secondary com frequency when receiving on com1 which makes it useless for getting ATIS while under ATC control near a class B or C. Quote

Speaking of Avidyne, they just donated an IPAD and a $500 gift cert for Avidyne products to the Mooney Summit. While a larger company than PS Engineering, they too see the value in supporting our community and our charity. Thanks Avidyne ! Thanks Avisimpson! Quote

Mark Scheuer PS Engineering, Inc. Thanks so much Mark! Your kindness and generosity is much appreciated! Please send it to The Mooney Summit, Inc. 1334 Riverside Dr. Tarpon Springs, Fl. 34689 also, please PM me your email address and I will keep you in our info loop, and make sure our attendee's are aware of the fine donation PS Engineering is making to this great cause! As a side note, I have PS Engineering gear in the plane I fly and without a doubt, it is the industry leader. I made my decision to go PS Engineering when a number of years ago at OSH, I noticed everyone who was demoing their headsets, etc was connected to PS engineering audio panel. This was testimony enough for me! Thank again Mark! Mike 1 Quote
