Other than, "don't go to NJ" does anyone out there have any recommendations (airports, FBOs, places to visit/see) as I take the Mooney, wife, kid and dog to NJ?

Plan it to do it in 2-3 days.

Thanks!!!

Brian, there are a lot of places to go via Mooney.  NJ is a pretty nice place.

what are you looking for?

what do you like to do?

Mountains, Ocean, Casinos and big hotels, tiny out of the way inn with a plane shaped pool and restaurant?  New York City and Atlantic City are interesting?

How do you intend to get around on the ground? Rent a car?

How about a bike trail on a canal that has rental kayaks and canoes?

Best regards,

So what Anthony is really asking is why would you want to go to New Jersey. :-)

I like Princeton a lot - convenient to both Philly and NYC by train.  Pretty town.  Lots of places to stay.

Ha! Let me be clear--I grew up in NJ. So I don't need any NJ info from ye. Looking for enroute info--people's favorite places to stop on a XC trip. Best airports, FBOs, surrounding hotels with kid friendly stuff...that sorta thing.

Thanks dudes...

I have 54gal tanks--so I'm thinking minimum of 3 stops (10+ hour flight time, 127gals).

Probably 2, 3.5 hours legs on day one and second final leg on day 2 (wx permitting of course!)

Have you been to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH? It's a fantastic collection and admission is free. Their brand new fourth building opens in a couple weeks.

It's a nice museum, I need to visit again. Another building . . .

try Greene County, it's nice and close.

Over just east of Cincinnati, you can always make a tourist stop at I69 and visit Sportys. Just check their hours, I honestly can't recommend their vending machine food. Although considering the type, it's classy vending machine food, better than I used to buy for lunch at work. Better to stop at Lunkin and eat lunch out in the patio watching the planes go by.

Most of my experience is going to be south of your route. But for a nice on-field lunch spot you could stop in at Lunken Field in Cincinnati (KLUK). That would probably give you one more leg to NJ.
