Contact Alan Fox on this site. I just saw he picked up a scrapped E.

Alan, I thought he had a Cessna 172

Great lead

I will email him now .

Alan doesn't know what he wants to be. He had a Mooney, then a Bonanza (he may still have that) and the last time I saw him, the 182RG.

WOOHOO ,

I posted here and you guys told me Alan had a E he was parting out.

So I talked to Alan and he is evaluating if the parts I need are serviceable.I will drive out to Jersey if they are.

Here is a question that flashed into my head.

I don't need a 201 windshield modification  because I have one already , but

If someone did want the windshield, or say Monroy Tanks, or bladders and you could obtain them from a salvage aircraft. Can they be installed in another aircraft , does the stc transfer?

thanks for your quick direction in my search, because timing is everything

Carl

I did find this from sabertech from 2011, so i think that answers my question.

As a holder of an STC, it is not transferable to another aircraft unless "I" as the STC holder agree to it and issue the STC to the new S/N aircraft.  You need the STC paperwork, installation instructions, and ICA for installation on an aircraft. We're responsible for that part for the life of it or the aircraft and since the 337 is filled out for that specific aircraft it can not just be removed and installed on another aircraft by an A&P/IA sign off.

Most of us who hold an STC make it aircraft S/N specific because we are liable for the part from the moment it leaves our shop and is installed on an aircraft  to the time the aircraft is scrapped. I would probably allow the part to be installed on another aircraft, but only after it was sent to me for inspection and certification to original drawings, for a reduced price, and with the appropriate paperwork for installation and maint.

It's all about the liability and who has it !!

I have a '66 E Right Flap & hangers.  It has one light ding on the rear that is barely visible...but it is there.  Have flap hangers.  I also have a right elevator with a small crinkle/wrinkle...No hangers.
