jz80nc Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I am a private pilot with a little over 800 hrs in Tail wheel and 10 hrs in Mooney's over the years, I haven't flown in the past 15 years and am ready to get back into flying again. I just completed purchased a Mooney M20F and due to several moves have lost one of my 3 log books. I am looking for A CFI with Mooney Experience to get my complex sign off and 4 or 5 hrs of Mooney time to get comfortable with landings and maneuvers again so i can possibly pick up my Mooney and bring it home if I can't find a ferry pilot before i can get some time in. I have been brushing up my navigation skills with AOPA courses and simulations using x-wing. and going through my old Instrument course tapes.... I use to fly nightly from 5w5 to INT and back in a PA-12 the 10 hrs in Mooney's was maintaining several M20C's in the Raleigh area. The CFI I used for high performance at the time has since passed away so no biggie I need the checkout any way and a BFI and the additional instruction time is always valuable. I just want to be safe not sorry Quote
ArtVandelay Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) I used 2: Nick Eberling, "New Heights Aviation" is his Mooneyspace ID, Goldsboro and Greg Boone out of KJNX. I did my transition training about 18 months ago. I used Nick as a "buyer's broker", don't know if he does just transition training, I think he is pretty busy these days with his Air Force duties. He was unable to complete my training and Greg was recommended by him. Edited September 25, 2015 by teejayevans additional detail Quote
