Hank Posted June 11, 2015 Report Posted June 11, 2015 A few? I live by the 85% rule…As in 85% in all professionals need to go…At the very least, need to step down one notch…The entire world is run by people promoted to the point of incompetence…then they just stay there... Otherwise known as The Peter Principle (no offense, PTK ). I agree it is a real phenomenon, but certainly less than half in May professions except those who feed off of the gullible (lawyers, used car salesmen, etc.). I only buy used cars, from the marque dealer, and I do it very carefully. Quote

ryoder Posted June 11, 2015 Report Posted June 11, 2015 I don't think ineptitude only applies to workers promoted to management. Many sole contributors produce shoddy work products. I had an illegal immigrant painter I found on Craigslist pain my front door. He took the oil based paint can I got with the house and had a can of matching latex made up. He then mixed the remaining oil with the latex and proceeded to paint my door. This guy has been painting for years. A month later all the paint bubbled up and I had to pay him to remove the paint and redo it. I have many stories like this and these people were not promoted. Quote
