Well  I spent the afternoon putting on my Plane Power alternator kit.  Still not done.  The existing belt on my plane 37"x1/2" is about 1" too short causing the alt to hit the oil line for the prop not good.  So i adjusted the alt down about 1/2" and that should work.  So I am obtaining a 38x1/2" belt.

I had to trim the baffles on the front to allow enough travel for the alt.  The alternator is larger diameter than the generator.  Still workng on where to install the switch, and light.

Anyone need a relativly new zeftronics regulator? along with a core for the generator.

I've got a generator too. Mine was rebuilt in 2006 I think. It might work fine. I'm not sure because I it never really got tested. Anybody want it?

I would love both I am running the old stuff and trying to keep costs down due to a partner, that can't fly and we brought the airplane up here.

So I have had lots of issues with the gen, and reg, and would love some spares....

Not many mooney parts out in the bush and I don't want to see how a hand prop turns out.....

Thanks to all

It takes a long time because the nuts are captured and they all need to be loosened / tightened simultaneously or what looks like 1/4 - 1/2 turn at a time.  Watching your A&P diligently mount or dismount a prop will drive you and him crazy at the same time...

The good news is the old generator belt works fine with the new alt.  I thouhgt I might have to pull the prop.  The plane power generator is in and hooked up.  I did a test run today and it worked fine.  I still need to put on the colwing but I'm wating on the flexiable rubber boot between the airfilter box and the throttle body.  Also my Money is getting a nose job, new paint, since I had the cowling off.  I'll post some pics.
