This is a very interesting story.  My Rocket has required magneto overhauls twice in the last 1,000 hours.  Maybe this explains it.  I have just finished my annual, but looking to sign it off April 1.  Guess I will pull the cowls back off and check the plugs with this method.

I fly a Turbocharged Bonanza for Northwoods Airlifeline as well, and it seems it's just not as smooth as I would like running LOP (taught the procedure down at Tornado Alley after the upgrade, so pretty sure I know what I'm doing).  Anyway, I just had the local FBO check the plugs and they replaced one.  Wonder if they followed this procedure?  Guess I will find out tonight at our monthly meeting.

Sorry folks,  I see this was already discussed in another forum;

I even switched to Tempest oil filters after this debacle, and having to retire a young set of Champion plugs that started failing rather quickly.  I had to change one in the field at a fuel stop with less than 100 hours TIS.
