Seth Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 My wife made a joke with me/to me/ (probably about me) yesterday. She then said, are you going to post that on MooneySpace? I at first hadn't thought to, but because she mentioned it, I told her yes: The conversation kind of went like this: Meghan: blah blah blah "APP" Seth: What's APP Meghan: You know, Airplane People Problems - Man, I can't get the autopilot to capture the glideslope, guess I'll just have to hand fly this approach - APP. I smiled and looked at her, and then we both laughed, and then continued with other probably not be announced here APP problems. We are a so fortunate that we live in a country that allows our work ethic and a little luck to save up and make our passion of flight a reality. So . . . feel free to share your APP problems, I know some of the MooneySpace characters have some funny ones. -Seth 4 Quote
Joe Zuffoletto Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 I spent 2 hours one recent Sunday afternoon figuring out how to position my Mooney and RV-8 in my hangar so I could pull either one out without moving the other. APP. 1 Quote

aviatoreb Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 My wife is mad because I want to steal the rider lawn mower we just bought from the neighbor for a screamin' deal - I need it for the hangar to drag my airplane around. You guys understand me right? She thinks we should mow the lawn with hit. Hmmppph! We are currently in negotiations for some kind of deal where maybe it could live at the house during the summer when the grass grows and live in my hangar just a mile and a half away (I would drive it there) for the winter which is when I need it anyway as it is harder for me to move the airplane by hand on ice. orionflt Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 I don't see an issue, in fact I think you are being more then reasonable offering to keep it at the house during the summer. Brian Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Quote

N201MKTurbo Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 My wife and I went hiking last night in the mountains (Shaw Butte) it was kind of cool out only 109 when we started. Some thunder storms rolled by which cooled it off to a frigid 95 by the time we were done. Quote

Seth Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 I showed this to my wife and was corrected: Not Airplane People Problems, but Aviation People Problems. I haven't let her know what an AMU is yet . . . that'll be a fun discussion. -Seth Quote
FlyDave Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 My wife says "All you ever think about is aviation". I don't know what the problem is..... 3 Quote

aviatoreb Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Who here has done the "I'm just going to pop by the airport for a few minutes" and next thing you know you are phoning to your wife from 250 miles away saying you will be a few more minutes. 1 Quote

As a student, I would head off for a lesson starting at 1000, and get home mid-afternoon; it was 10 miles driving each way. At least I haven't made Erik's phone call . . . yet! Quote

bonal Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 There is something about being at an airport I can't think of any place I can go that gives me a greater sense of peace and balance it's hard to explain. My home field is very quiet most times the stillness only broken occasionally by the sound of an airplane coming or going, my favorite sound. You can here them for a long time and then so peaceful until the next arrival or departure that may not come for hours. I wish I could spend more time there. Quote

Awqward Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 So true. So we have a Mooney Money Unit (MMU). 1MMU=$1000 No one discusses the Aviator Time Unit. 1ATU= 5 civilian hours. Of course here in Scotland 1AMU = $5,000! But the ATU conversion is 1:1 :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
