January being over, I fully intend to hop off the wagon tonight. Point proven. I can quit drinking anytime I want to.

As for today, I'll be watching a B-17 fly over my house all day long on approach to KFXE as part of its Collings Foundation air tour. It has a very distinctive sound as it approaches and gives me enough time to go outside and watch it.

I would refer you to steps one and two. Maybe you could start a cheerleading squad. The old mantra by the administration was...."well, when everyone sees how good it is, they'll like it". Funny, they don't say that much any more. The ACA has only 10 mil right now. Half of whom the ill , sick and poor, the other half, people who liked their insurance, but were forcibly kicked to the exchanges because of it's ridiculous "fairness", moral based provisions (only one is fair-"pre-existing cond"). In my case, no husbands and wives can be a "group", when two unmarried or other can.

The ACA will be carved up like a fat, 25 lbs, Thanksgiving bird.

Typical well thought out reply form a conservative. Not. Pre-existing condition converge denial: GOOD (cause it might affect me or already affects me), everything else: BAD. Except you didn't thing about actuarial soundness of that policy alone, did you? You cannot offer this feature without requiring the other parts of ACA, the individual mandate and age only based rating. They actually screwed up here as far as I am concerned. There should be no age rating whatsoever. We're all going to be 55 someday.

Precisely. And this might put a little ding in gay marriage, because when they see the utter governmental discrimination (ACA-IRS) against marriage, they'll stay single.

Yeap, it's a proven fact that conservatives lack the ability to imagine themselves in other people's shoes.

Not true. You are a charity case and I have you figured out pretty well. Policy...not bombs, please. You and Mike have spent your powder.

At least I'm not looking at eternal damnation because of a blowjob ;-) Enjoy your non reality. Life of a conservative: non stop disappointment. My reality does not require holding opposite ideas in my head and holding them both to be true. No wonder majority of nut cases worldwide are conservatives. Really enjoyed that photo of you yesterday, with your finger up. Kind of looked like someone who could use some therapy. Cognitive dissonance is a bitch.

Nothing is going to happen to ACA. Dream on, Sunshine. I looked at the electoral maps. Next Democratic presidential nominee would have to abort a fetus on live TV and eat it in order to lose. There will not be a Republican president for years to come when the young ones come out to vote like they do in each presidential election unless the Republican party quits being the party of Jesus. Younger generation does not buy into the family values bullshit and tax cuts don't do anything for them since they make no money.

We'll see. Good news is...this metamorphosis of a thread will likely still be here.

I am sorry, you readily and repeatedly confuse damnation and salvation. I can tell my Priest anything. His ringtone is Metallica. Come home to the church Andy.

You confuse mortal sin and requirements for true redemption. It's not an insurance policy. Typical cafeteria Catholic bullshit.

You know, I just read a piece in WSJ about all of our new chain type urgent care facilities popping up everywhere. The market has been realized from the greatest of Obamacare's many failures, high deductibles. Walgreens, CVS and others are opening urgent care centers, not only as places where you go get an antibiotic for your sore throat, but some are buying MRI machines etc, hiring orthopedists and other specialists.

The care is provided quickly, without appointment. The price is commensurate. People's outcomes are generally good and many prefer it to traditional emergency rooms. Developers see it as a plus because it draws "good" traffic to shopping centers where Blockbuster used to be. Doctors supplement their income or just flat out make more money. So this leaves us with Obamacare with all of it's problems providing exactly what it didn't  intend to do. Privatized healthcare. And we can see this for what it is, privatization of medical care providing a better solution to a massive government run boondoggle.

The free market and privatization of healthcare works.......in spite of Obamacare.

Funny how our private economy works.

Please...go to your computer and some how tell me this was a deliberate government idea and some how a planned intention of the ACA. Please.....find a way to strike down the very ideals of Republican economic theory. Please.

By design, by MODEL, IN the law...not a couple of corporate meetings with Kathleen Sibelius or the cadillac tax cap. It's over 2000 pages, it must be in there somewhere.

Actually sounds interesting, reply with the link.

I hate this thread but I thought I might add some personal experience. my company provided healthcare was with United and the deductible was a 20 dollar co pay for anything. Post ACA we have Anthem blue cross and I have to pay for everything until we reach a 2400 dollar amount for the year. They do provide a health care visa that I can use for expenses with a balance of 1500 so not too bad but the thing is this new policy costs my employer more than what we had before and they are saying that the benefits will be considered a taxable income I think starting this year. Just my 2 cents. Battle on guys.

Bonal...they are only tax deductible for personal income up to a small amount.....If you were an S-corp Landscaper, no dice. Good for you though. So maybe the Visa created all this? I doubt it, but thank God it haphazardly existed.

Not sure what you mean when you said "no dice". As the sole proprietor of an S Corp, I can deduct 100% of my premiums.

It also sounds like Bonal is talking about an HSA account, which has been around for several year.  You or your employer make pre-tax contributions to the account and pay for out-of-pocket goods and services with the Visa or Mastercard supplied by the custodian.

And like I've said here many, many times before, to the consternation of some, before ACA I was paying more than double for my premiums for a plan that had the same deductible and less coverage. Regressives absolutely hate to hear that and I get so much crap when I discuss it.

Re: S-Corp...true and not true. You can't operate an insurance group under an S-Corp if the primary shareholder in the group is also the Corp owner. There's that pesky group, husband wife thing again. Careful, don't name your wife an equal shareholder or officer and buy her insurance too, or you're screwed. In our case, she has always been treasurer and she was younger for insurance purposes. As a single owner, 100% stock owner, providing only for yourself, or one family plan, you can. This is new to pass through rules as of 2015 and designed specifically to kick as many warm bodies to the exchanges as they can get. The heart of small business.

I think you are referring to the 2% rule. Doesn't apply to me since I'm the only shareholder.

John,

You are simply high. There is nothing that can be done for you and your ilk. I've seen this before with Clinton. It does not matter what a person does, if they have a (D) behind their name, they are wrong. Clinton could have paid off the entire debt and you would have found something wrong. ACA did not change the deductibles for anyone. They are 2000/4000 under comparable plans and do not apply to basic primary care. They apply to hospital stays, just like they did pre ACA. The people buying the bronze and silver plans are the same people who in the past had high deductible, catastrophic plans. Not a damn thing changed other than your perceived assault on sacrament of marriage. Be a true capitalist. Get divorced.

Do you even know how a deductible and copay works? Majority of these places you are talking about have jack shit to do with ACA and majority of them take insurance. They exist because they are convenient, nothing to do with ACA. They have been around forever. I've used them long before Obama was even on the radar. I've crashed many a bicycle on the weekends.

My ass you can't. You just have to have an employee…Become a job creator…Cry me a river: upper middle classes making six figure incomes complaining about how tough their lives became under Obama…I almost feel sorry for you but for all the wrong reasons…How about all them taxes you'll have to pay since your 401(K) and IRA quadrupled since he took over. I know mine did. My life, so hard, I think I'm going to walk down to the soup kitchen to see if I can get some sympathy…Never mind, it's snowing, how about I take my car with a heated steering wheel...

They also exist because it's cheaper to pay five NPs with one Preceptor who shows up once a month than a hospital/clinic full of Doctors. You pay the same but get "lesser" service; fun thing is you don't even know it and it probably doesn't matter because you don't need an MD/Ph.D to prescribe a Z-pack for your cold.

I explained Maryland law and how it relates to the ACA, not once, but twice. My 401k??? The United States Treasury. So, in effect, a tax cut? Right?
