FloridaMan Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Tried my G1W dash cam (~$50-60 on Amazon) in my airplane. I stopped using the GoPro as I'd run out of storage or battery; this camera writes 5 minute files and erases old ones. I have it set up to turn off the display so it isn't blinding at night. Here's a video. I sped it up 4x to keep viewers from falling asleep: 1 Quote
timpercarpio Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 When I try to play the video, it says "this video is unavailable" Quote
bonal Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Same here video unavailable, FYI you only have to speed up Cessna Piper and Beech video's Mooney vids go fast all on there own. Quote
Marauder Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Worked for me. I especially like the part where you turned away from that anvil shaped cloud. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

chrisk Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Which airport was that? You don't look very high when crossing the departure end. I like the video. Is there any software to filter this out the prop? --If not, maybe in my spare time.... Quote
slowflyin Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 I'm guessing it's 36 off of kspg Albert Whitted- Saint Pete, FL- Nice video! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

Is there any software to filter this out the prop? --If not, maybe in my spare time.... It's KSPG. The runway is 2864x150. I prefer to accelerate to just over Vy before I start my climb. I also don't take off on 25. I have three runways that will put me in the drink and one that will send me downtown if the big fan stops turning. I was thinking of writing a prop filter as well. It shouldn't be too bad and I'd probably either write one myself or pay for one if it were available. Quote
DAVIDWH Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 My previous flight instructor said he would never instruct with a camera in the cockpit. When I asked why, I got a two word answer. "That's evidence". Untentionally, we may inadvertently be making the FAA's work a bit easier. Quote
