Any valuation that only takes into account engine and AF time will come out low. An objective valuation needs to account for much more including recency or condition of interior, paint, tanks etc and all the upgrades added by the owner. This C has many. Often though VREF comes in higher than Blue Book on the base values. But base value is just a starting point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The market has been moving. It' been five years since the big recession.

Interest rates are expected to begin increasing next year, as the Fed 'tapering' is already underway.

The best part is unemployment has dropped significantly. This should lead to the end of under employment as well. Imagine, for a moment, getting a significant raise with a promotion?

Prices rising to 'normal' levels and increasing interest rates will make ownership more challenging in the future.

The sun is beginning to shine, the factory is open,

Maybe, it's my take on things...just me?

Ben, you have posted numerous times on this forum that you are looking for a 252/231 or you might go down to a 201... Why are you constantly putting out your expert opinion on the value of a plane you are not even interested in? As a new pilot, who has never even owned a plane, let alone flown a mooney, maybe your opinion is less than useful? You have posted on the AOPA forums how the bonanza is the plane for you, now here the 252 is right for you. You're coming off as a bit of a troll and a douche. If as you claim you got your work bonus and you're ready to buy, then buy a 231/252 already and shut up. There are tons of planes for sale which should meet your discerning tastes. You have commented before how you are a short/fat guy, so a 20C is certainly not for you, so don't bother giving your opinion on prices. Get the biggest fastest most complex plane you can afford, don't be bothered by the naysayers who try to tell you otherwise. A turbo is what you need Ben.

If you look at benpilot's profile and click on "Display name history" you'll see that benpilot used to be skynewbie. I've had skynewbie/benpilot on ignore for 4 months. I suggest you do the same.

Ben contacted me on controller and wanted to come see the plane. Based on his name and location from the controller contact I guessed it was benpilot from mooneyspace. I called him and even confirmed he was benpilot and I mentioned how he was only looking for a 231/252, which he agreed. He spent the next 10 minutes wasting my time asking me basic questions about 20Cs and at the end of the conversation wanted me to fly the plane to him in palo alto (100nm) so he can see it. I declined, as that is a super douche move and he already told me he want a turbo. I think he just wanted me to fly there and give him a ride since he has probably never sat in, let alone flown a mooney.
