  2. Hi folks, upon popular demand, we have managed to reserve the Mooney Caravan tent for our yearly get together again. Same as last year, we will have pizza, beer and soft drinks for all people attending. As for the previous similar events, we will provide name tags for those who sign-up while responding to this thread. This is the best opportunity to meet with other MooneySpace forum members face-to-face. We had a very good turnout last year. More info: When: July 23rd, 6:30 PM (This is the Monday) Location: At the Mooney Caravan tent which is usually on the west side of North 40. Since the Caravan arrives Saturday instead of Sunday, we expect the tent to be much closer to the main presentations area this year. All Mooney interested people are invited In order to help pay for the beer, pops, pizza and name tags we will accept donations (no minimum, CBs are welcome). Any remaining amount will be split evenly between the Mooney Caravan Safety Foundation and the MooneySpace web site. We had Van Allen Airmotive sponsor the event last year however I found out this week that they are not coming to Oshkosh this year. If anyone would be willing (or know someone who might want to help the event the same way) to take this sponsorship, feel free to get in touch with me. People can contact me in private or email here: yvesg@semo.ca In order to get a name tag, please respond to this thread no later than July 16th and indicate the number of people in your party with the wanted names (usually MooneySpace handle) on the tag. Having headcount will help making sure we have enough pizza and drinks. I will periodically post the list of signed-ups here. See ya! Yves
  3. We always have long bodies fly as part of the Caravan. They never complained on the taxi part. Yves
  4. What about air (fuel) vent blockage? I recall some having such issue and this would stop the fuel flow. Yves
  5. Will this be the "modern era" largest Caravan? We'll see what happens... lolll Will be in Oshkosh until Thursday. Just registered for the Caravan, paid, reserved hotel... almost all set now. For those who wish to camp near the Caravan folks but cannot fly in with the group, just synchronize your time of arrival with the Caravan and you should be camping nearby. Some have done it in the last few years and were able to meet the group. Yves
  6. Thanks Hank. You are right. This is an older photo. Washers were put on lower engine mounts to correct this at last annual. Yves
  7. Here is another photo. Still think it is a nose gear issue.
  8. Nose gear issue for sure. Look at this picture which is similar in angle to yours. We see the whole shock disk assembly. On yours it is not coming out of the wheel well. Yves
  9. Erik, good job for the recovery. Getting out of this without a scratch is the best possible outcome. I hope it wont cost you an arm and a leg for your engine. Good luck. Yves
  10. This is the one that happened near me. My wife (and another pilot’s wife) was actually only a mile or two away at the while it happened. https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/pilot-makes-emergency-landing-on-highway-5-near-chelsea-1.3897330 Yves
  11. I won a few years ago Sextant nav lights at the Mooney Caravan. They are so bright! No need to turn the switch on and get out of the pksne at sunset to see if they work. Yves
  12. Anyone knows how much is that kit? Yves
  13. Where are you located? I am in eastern Canada. If I see something in my area, I will contact you. Yves
  14. At Oshkosh last summer, during a presentation, a Mooney’s company staff mentioned that sometime in the past, they tested the wing with 20000 pounds on the wing and it would still hold. Yves
  15. Attaboy Ned. Welcome to the RNAV world. Hope it does not break the bank. How much is the total cost? Yves
  16. Oscar, I hope this is for better for you. Hope to see you again in Oshkosh if you can. Yves
  17. I had the pilot side rails replaced last annual. From memory it was $276 USD each. After my mechanic’s markup, transport and currency exchange it ended up around $500 each CDN. Yves
  18. Urs, I am an electronic technologist and if you want to send me the box, I will fix it and build something (and/or create a procedure) to facilitate the testing of the box. I will send you a private message. Yves
  19. OK folks, I checked and my Mooney is the same as all the others... it has 2 cams per seat. David, mines are not in that bad a shape that I would need new ones at this point. Thanks a lot for the offer. Yves
  20. I should be able to check how it is set up later tonight... going to the airport. Yves
  21. If you go with the real definition of what VHF is, the length of a quarter wave can be anything from 1/4 of a meter to 2.5 meters approx. depending of the exact frequency. This is from 8 to 80 inches in US measurement. Yves
  22. Alan is right. There was enough beer and pizza for everyone summer 2017. Thanks to Van Allen airmotive our event sponsor. I do not recall Clarence showing-up for this one. Yves
  23. No delivery that far.... going to get cold ... however the Mooney Caravan tent shall be closer to the action this year since we are launching on the Saturday instead of the Sunday. Yves
  24. Thanks for educating me (again) Clarence. If I see you in Oshkosh again this summer... free pizza is on me! Yves
  25. What is the difference between a washer and an “L” washer? Yves
