    I still disagree. We'll have to get some Einstein stuff in here to get this straith: Lets assume each time zone covers the same ground distance which is 1/24 the curcumference of the earth, lets say 1000 miles to make it easy. Lets also assume that he left texas from the middle of the time zone (GMT - 5) it sits in and where he landed is also in the middle of the GMT + 5 zone. Draw this on a piece of paper and you will see he travelled the equivalent of 10 time zones (10000 miles), not 12 and not 11. It would be 11 only if he would have left on the western edge of the GMT -5 zone and landed exactly on the easter edge of the GMT + 5.

    Paul said GMT - 5, I went from there. Looking at the map you sent, I still see 10 time zone difference, not 11. Sorry for the proscratination... this is what I do for work, raise bugs when something is wrong. Take care Bob. Yves

    I disagree. GMT is 0 not one. If you are at GMT -5 and you compare with GMT + 5, that is 10 hours difference. GMT does not care about daylight saving time. It is a reference. Yves

    We lost spot for about an hour and it is back now. Last hour and a half he is 147 knots. Yves

    I just computed his ground speed from the spot data. He is doing around 137 knots. Still strong headwinds at FL240. Looking at windyty, they seem to decrease as he will approach the Africa coast. Yves
