  1. My bride takes tons of pics with her IPhone. This one really caught my eye. Best I can remember we were at 9000over Kingman AZ en-route the Grand Canyon from Palm Springs CA on Christmas Day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Pre airplane we drove the first and last day of our vacations. Whats the value of a days vacation? Roughly 2000 hours in a work year. Divide you and your spouses cumulative salary by it and you will come close to a book number excluding the quality of life factors. Time is a wonderful, valuable thing and a our Mooney is a time machine! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I selected "delete all" and then it allowed me to install the new plates. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Whelen Orion LEDs on the wingtips synced with the tail and I have a beep. Coming in through the aux audio on the PMA8000BT. I can turn the aux all the way down and it minimizes it but I can still hear it.
  5. Congrats and an exciting journey!
  6. I fly the same system except my alt hold is an Stec 30 ad-on. A couple of comments- your milage may vary. When utilizing AccuFlite to perform an 180 course reversal it helps to adjust the bug slightly in the direction you wish the AC to initiate the turn. Then after 5 or 10 degrees set the bug to the final course. Otherwise, the AC may choose the opposite direction. Unless I'm be vectored I always use both anytime I'm letting George fly. For me they work better as a team. My AC will do a great job of intercepting a radial. Even an 80 degree intercept will only result in a one or two dot overshoot. ( I do not have a roll steering coupler) A normal intercept works beautifully. Activate the leg in the GPS and turn the Accutrak on then set the AaccuFlite bug to the radials course and sit back. The AccuFlite and AccuTrak will negotiate the heading until the ACs track is aligned with the radials. I typically utilize the HI sensitivity setting. Approaches are not approved but I've flown them VFR to see how well the system performed. Utilizing both the AccuFlite and the AccuTrak results in an approach with fantastic lateral stability. Even with strong cross winds these old systems work great! Feel free to PM if you would like to discuss any of the above.
  7. Fantastic an airport is be revitalized! Congrats!
  8. I did notice he landed past my touchdown point. [emoji16] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Yes, the weather could have been better. KLNS was broadcasting 800 OVC with light rain and good VIS. 20 miles out, running down hill in IMC with rain, approach tells me the tower is reporting rapidly deteriorating conditions, rain, fog, and 1/4 to 1/2 mile Visibility. The wife was outside and picked up the rabbit around 100 over mins. As we're parking I notice a crowd standing in the rain along the fence. Then they begin to cheer. I turn around just in time to see Trump landing. We left at around noon today and it was much less eventful. [emoji41] I'll certainly give you a call next time I'm in the area. Do the same if your ever around Richmond. I'm SW at KBKT. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. Nice approach into Lancaster yesterday afternoon. https://vimeo.com/185209486
  13. Here is a short clip of my son and I shooting a GPS approach into our home field. Mins are 300 and we made the field around 400 if I remember correctly. Interesting day with a solid overcast above a broken layer that was at mins. Compared to most it's a poor video. My_Movie2.mp4
  14. For me, hands down, Belly Wash. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/aerobellywash.php Get the pad with it and the sticky, sooty stuff just wipes off. Fantastic stuff. I use the W&W Blue for bugs on leading edges and like it as well.
  15. My 70F has split rear seats as well.
  16. Congrats! Really nice bird! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. You must upgrade to pro plus.
  18. I'd check the FP with a different gauge. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. http://www.batteryminders.com/batteryminder-model-128cec1-aa-s5-12v-8-amp-concorde-aviation-battery-charger-maintainer-desulfator/ This is the newer version of what I use. Of note; I've used it on a Concorde for six years while my business partner chose not to on his Skyhawk. Same environment-comparable flight times- both have Skytec starters- one IO360- O360 and we just replaced his Concorde after 36 months. Scientific, heck no but he just bought the unit above.
  20. I use a battery minder that is specifically designed for a Concorde aviation battery on my Mooney with excellent results. It has a temp sensor attached to the battery and I'm very comfortable leaving it running in my absence. In the summer its not much of an issue but I think it is valuable in the low temps we have in the winter. Brisk starts durIng the bitter cold are the norm. Nothing scientific but my battery challenges are nonexistent since I bought a quality charger/maintainer. My experience, less money spent on batteries and great starts year around. 22. Congrats from a fellow F driver! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  24. Unfortunate to say the least.
  25. Welcome! I'm an F driver as well.
