  1. I put an airtex kit in my 62C in 1999. Still looks great. May replace the carpet next year but the side panels and headliner don't need it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Ru removing the vacuum system. If so what will be your backup power source? The Aspen? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Keep what you have and know. You won't gain anything measurable by upgrading in the long run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have one. Used it with an Stec30 and GTN 650. When I got the Aspen didn't need it anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Get an Aspen and G5 and just eliminate the entire system. Don't need standby alternator because both have battery backups Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The first pic shows a definite problem since the corrosion is clearly eating away at the spar. The second pic shows surface corrosion which can probably be scotchbrited off and treated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I've got a 700 w/ff and am going with the 900. Did u get any trade up credit on the 700? And if u have fuel flow can u use the existing transducer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Uh Bob! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Sounds just about right Bill Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Now u know why I fly a C with an O 360. 40k? Ouchie!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Urs is displaying course reversal "racetrack". Mine doesn't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I get aural traffic alerts in addition to the visual traffic alert. Marauder I have another question for you. I have the Aspen pro 1000 and 650 but unlike you in ur videos I cannot any course reversal depiction on my Aspen. I sent the video of u to Aspen and they said there's a problem at Garmin's end with the way they changed how they "label" the data that the Aspen can't read. They haven't been able to reconcile how u get though. Any thoughts on that ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You guys overthink everything. Just service whatever plugs you choose to use every fifty hours and you will get great service life. You do do that don't you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. And of course have the pushrod gaskets replaced. No biggie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My advice. Re-torque the affected bolts and continue flying. Appears you have a good engine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You can run the old stuff or the new. They both have their benefits and deficiencies. I ran steam for years and never had a failure in hard IMC or VFR. But when I got a great deal on the Aspen Pro I didn't hesitate. Now I'm not so enthusiastic about the new deal. But I want the G5 so I can eliminate my vacuum system. Oh BTW since I've had the Aspen I have hardly noticed the AI or compass. Not saying this is good or bad. But prior to the Aspen I was resetting the AU every 15 minutes. 17. Use them all the time. They're great folks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. In my plane 80 mph on final works well with 75 over the fence. 75 on final is feels too mushy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. 90 knots is way too fast for a C F or J. 80mph on final is optimum. And it's easy to slow down. 2300 rpm and 18-17 inches will get you to gear speed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I had the 54.8 gallon bladders installed in my C in 1999-2000 as I recall. Price was about 5500.00 complete. Have had no problems other that a leak around the sump drains that was repaired by the O and N at no cost to me. In July of 2016 I had Griggs install the additional 10 gallons. Now that was expensive about 4700.00 but I had a need for the additional capacity so I went for it. They're good guys and very competent. The installation was flawless but it's not cheap.
  21. Speaking of "want to haves" as opposed to "need to haves" I ordered the enablement to allow the 345 to display FIS and TIS-B on the Aspen. There's a 300 dollar discount being offered on the unlock by Aspen currently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Griggs Aircraft Refinishing LLC 17 Runway RD Tunkhannock, PA. 18657 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Call Matt Griggs in tunkhannock pa. He's very knowledgeable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. I had the one piece windshield installed complete for 980.00. Very hard to justify the price delta of 6-7 thousand for the 201 windshield. Based on what I've learned over the years the speed gain is barely perceptible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
