That's a good deal! You don't have to deal with the frustration or mess with sending the core back in for a refund. Hopefully you got to watch them exchange the pumps.
-
I replaced mine with an overhauled unit when I purchased the plane over 6 years ago. Had over 700 hours and was still working. Replaced as a preventive measure with another overhauled pump. Hopefully this one will be as good. I've discovered (at least for me) it's easier to pull the dual mag with the vacuum pump removed so I plan on replacing the pump at the 500 service interval for the mag.

Dang Lance, you're quick on the draw....you might have to share with me.
-
That's the one I just replaced on my IO360 A3B6D. Purchase a vacuum pump wrench or I'll let you borrow mine as long as you send it back. $100 core charge

To be fair, fuellevel did respond to my post above with his contact info and website address. Hopefully Tom has heard from him also.

Also willing to give these senders a shot since I've already installed a digital fuel gauge but still had the resistor senders. Sent them a message July 6th, no reply. No reply = No sale. Business must be good when you can turn away customers.

The link above from ThorFlight works.

Questions: 1. Do you have a scissor jack? 2. Do you have a basic tool set? SAE socket set, wire cutters, large crescent wrench, ect. ? 3. Wood blocks, 2x4's, 4x4's ? 4. An iPad or phone that can skype? All you need to do is get the wheel off. You can take it to someone for tube replacement if your not comfortable doing that yourself.

The complete 3rd Class Medical Reform law text.

I don't know Tom....although I'm not an "new" Mooney guy those exact thoughts were going through my head..... -
Wow.....it shouldn't be so difficult to to fix a flat. If you need a jack point let me know and I'll send you one or both Monday. I've got an extra set. I'll even disassemble one of my jacks if needed (easier shipping). Let me know.

We're in the same boat Tom.....or should I say plane? To be fair to the Mooney, I'm not sure if it's me or the Mooney she doesn't trust. I have to give the wife some credit though.....I spent a fair amount of time at the airport over the past couple of months going through every system, nook and cranny preparing her (yes, she's a she, although not named) for my son to use over the summer. The wife never complained, although my "honey do" list grew at a rate faster than I expected......

If your going to replace the seat belts, I'd look into inertia reel. It's one of the things I'd like to improve but way down the financial priority list along with 201 yokes. I need avionics. http://alphaaviation.com/Mooney.html Looks like the new interior is going to be sharp!!
-
I don't know Paul.....I think it's too nice for the asking price. I'd be willing to trade straight across, my old and decrepit "C" yokes for your 201 yokes. That'll give the new owner something to look forward to improving on an otherwise perfect C model plane.

I'm based out of central Texas and had the same concerns about high density altitude airports when I took the Mooney (C model w/ an IO360) to Rawlins Wyoming for my son to use. It sits at 6800'. Midlifeflyer clearly has experience in this area. My only concern....I've never been a fan of full power run-ups on the ramp. We leaned at normal run-up RPM (1700 ish) then when we started our take off roll, leaned to max RPM, then enrichened a few turns of the vernier knob. I can see where some might have concerns about multitasking during the takeoff roll but it really was a non-event. Density altitude was around 9500' and I was trying to open the hatch beneath our feet so I could do the Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble shuffle and get the Mooney moving. We were just shy of 800 lbs loading and were off the ground I'd estimate in the 2500'- 3000' range. Rawlins has a intersecting runway at 3500' and we were off the ground well before reaching the intersection. As a side note, Tyler went to preflight the Mooney a couple of days ago and this bad boy was sitting on the ramp.

If I were to consider my contribution to Mooneyspace as an investment, I think it's one of the best returns I've realized. Not only in terms of financial benefit but more importantly the safety aspect of the hobby I enjoy. Thanks to all those who contribute....with money and/or knowledge!!

HOUSE, SENATE INCLUDE MEDICAL REFORM IN FAA EXTENSION
1524J replied to GeorgePerry's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
I work for a major corporation and our medical rates have climbed at a higher rate than M20Doc's 8 cylinder brand "P". Just the facts I'm living with! On a positive note....when my AME retired due to all the new regulations my medical went from $150 to $40. -
You need to continue to turn the screw counter clockwise until it stops. There's a lever at the back of the radio that needs to be in the proper position to release. The screw will actually "push" the radio out (and pull the radio in when installing). Pull (or push) just enough to help the screw do it's job. It'll slide out easily when done.

Kuljit Hundal, I really feel for you but my advice would be not to take this issue to a public forum.....especially if you intend on pursuing legal action. Just sayin'.....

I think most of us who own an airplane could teach a class on rationalization skills....or we could face reality and realize we might be a bit irrational....at least when it comes to planes.
-
Clarence....I found a new engine for you in case you decide you need more power. Hang this one and you might be able to take Marauder's girls for a spin!

My tongue was planted firmly in cheek..... Nothing worse than an unexpected bill....especially one off that far. i just took my Mooney to an avionics shop for some work that we thought would take a couple of hours max. Seven hours later we finally wrapped it up. I felt bad because he had squeezed me in for the morning. When noon rolled around and it was still obvious we lacked quite a bit of work, I felt bad for him so I bought lunch. Of course I was there the entire time helping.....or perhaps getting in the way....depending on perspective.

What I ordered was described as Styrene Plexiglass. Appears to be identical to what was installed previously although mine wasn't molded at all. Just a flat piece of plexiglass cut in an oval shape. It appears to be PETG or Polyethylene Terephthalate.
