  1. Wuss....
  2. Respectfully , best glide is attained , with the gear UP , and the flaps UP , and the plane ALREADY at the determined speed , Don't know about you , but I don't fly a J model in the pattern , or on approach , with the wheels UP , or the flaps UP , and certainly not at 90 KNOTS.... So Take that 80 seconds and cut it in half , Flaps and gear will decrease your glide SUBSTANTIALLY , also how much altitude will you lose pitching the nose down to gain the needed 10 to 15 knots to get to best glide???? Lets not second guess someone who made lemonade , with multiple LEMON TREES !!!!!! AND PLEASE DO NOT BE THE NEXT GUY TO RUN OUT OF FUEL........ ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TRYING TO SAVE MONEY BUYING OFF FIELD !!!!!!!
  3. I have a DAC GDC31 coming in next week...
  4. I would say no , moving a 30 lb battery that far aft of CG is probably not a great idea , My guess (and it is only a guess) is that there are other things that Mooney moved around when they Moved the battery..... Also , rerouting all the plumbing would be a MAJOR pain in the ass....
  5. Again you have no clue what you are speaking of , he most certainly could do a flooded start procedure , maybe 15 seconds , but he didn't have enough time.....Kelty thanks for being humble enough to share this with us , I know at least a few of the people reading this will learn from your mistake ...... Also thanks for not making up excuses , Being at the top of the game... It shows us that even the best of the best are human......... The "culture" of GA pilots is pretty sad in some cases........ Every time I get into a plane , I take the attitude that I am not a good pilot , what can I do so I don't screw it up........ It has served me well......
  6. The systems after 1965 have the gyro incorporated in the turn coordinator....
  7. The stuff in the tailcone , is part of the Accutrack or B4 B5 setups , If this is the straight PC , it is only lacking the main shut off valve....
  8. I don't think I would let anybody fly my plane , unless I was in it.....70K sounds about average , when you put in 25 K for the prop and tear down
  9. Sounds awfully cheap..
  10. I have another coming in this week ..
  11. Had I met an Acclaim , That was descending from 9000 feet to 4000 feet , and I was flying straight and level , we would not have been doing the same speed...... He would be faster , and burning the same amount of fuel...
  12. Put 4 people in your Mooney , add 75 gallons of fuel , take off from a grass strip , ....... Oh wait..... You cant put people and fuel in it never mind.....
  13. Lets go chris !!!!
  14. I burn 15 to do 170 knots , Oh yea , I can take people AND fuel !!! And if I want to go fast up high , I will take my P-210
  15. Ha Ha , Below 8000 feet my Bo is faster than your Turbo.....With less maitenence !!!
  16. I will know when I receive it on Friday.....
  17. I can sell a 330Es for 2000 , I will have it on Friday..
  18. I do have my merits....
  19. I don't even think you woke up on my gentle as a feather landing!!! Chris loves the B also , We were outrunning a storm , And I turned final hot and high , Chopped , dropped , slipped , landed on the numbers , , Chris was white as a ghost..... and I quote " I couldn't even think of doing that in my Mooney" .....
  20. I wouldn't consider any aircraft not approved for spins a sports car.......In fact by all your descriptions , you all brag that they are economy cars..... Like a Prius with wings........LMAO If you don't know about the thumbnail test on the J-bar , you are setting yourself up for disaster regardless of the age of the block.....but replacing the block might be good maintenance..
  21. OK Anthony , here goes , The 182 does everything good , It easily climbs at 1500 fpm.... It can do more , It carries 88 gallons of fuel.....It can go 135 indicated knots on the airspeed indicator , at 12 gallons per hour , It can fly at 38 knots all day long , It can carry 1300 lbs ul , It can land in 800 feet easily , It is HUGE inside , has two doors and real landing gear , you can land it anywhere , you can put floats on it .... Outside of a Beaver , Its is perhaps the most mission capable aircraft...... And just so you know , my 182 is faster than an F ....( the wheels go up) and you can spin it without fearing for your life....... When I had an E model and the Cessna , I preferred the Cessna.... I really like the Mooney , But I get a kick out of people saying the mooney is like a sports car , Its not , neither is a 182 , and neither is a Bonanza , They are all sedans.....A pitts or an Extra are sports cars
  22. I forgot airways too... .
  23. Come on Anthony , you know where the upgrade path leads............ All roads lead to Beech !!!
