    Where is GOFFS intersection? I am familiar with GOFFS (GFS) VOR just west of Bullhead City, AZ. It's on my route to Bullhead City when the MAPA PPP is held in Bullhead.

    On Thursday evening at 6:45 PM PST one of my clients died when his C182 crashed. His fiancé and two of her grandchildren also died. It appears that he ran into low ceilings (dark night) and lost control. He departed Boeing Field (Seattle) for KCLM (Port Angeles), a 40 min. flight. Departure weather was marginal VFR, destination VFR. Enroute the closest reporting station KPWT (Bremerton) was worse though. A great tragedy. Be very careful out there.

    Flew from NW Washington to MSC at Troutdale, OR today to drop off 84L for annual. 1.4 hours with a stop at Tacoma Narrows to drop a friend off to retrieve his C177. Photos are Cascade volcanos and Toutle River with Mt St Helens ash flow.

    I planned a flight from W. Washington today across Cascades to E. Washington (KPSC) to watch grandkids basketball games on Saturday. Forecast temps are high of 10F LOW 0F. FBO had unheated hangar available for $50/day but it did not have electrical outlet to plug in a Tanis heater. Rather than cold starting I chose to drive over (6 hours vs 1.5 flight). How do those of you who live in cold climes deal with lack of facilities at intended destinations?

    When I had GTN750 installed by Pacific Coast Avionics & had KFC 150 issues they sent the computer & servo to Capital Avionics in Tallahassee, FL. They fixed both and autopilot has been working great for almost a year

    I noticed that after I replaced KLN90B with GTN750 the Shadin showed fuel to next waypoint instead of to destination.

    This is Foreflight's W&B for our J with full fuel and 510 lbs.

    POH says to open throttle 1/4, not 1/4 inch before running boost pump. You're not getting enough fuel into cylinders if you only open 1/4 "

    I recently started chocking the plane in the hangar, thinking that if there were an earthquake it might help keep from rolling into the hangar walls. Paranoia? Would it actually help?

    That's what I found in our 1800 hour TTSNEW engine after returning from Oshkosh last year. Now have factory rebuilt. I didn't feel comfortable trying to get a couple hundred more hours on the first engine

    Last weekend we flew to Coeur d'Alene, ID to watch sons # 1 & 2 complete Iron Man Triathalon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, then full marathon). Forest fire started nearby with smoke plume providing some welcome shade.

    I had the exact same symptoms. Send them to factory for 1000 hour maintence (as required by maintence manual supplement to POH). They'll work like new.
