  1. Mooneys are gorgeous airplanes, but, I saw this aircraft a few years ago in the Spencer Aircraft hangar at Pierce County Airport in Puyallup, WA and fell in love with it. What are your favorite planes? http://supersolutionproject.blogspot.com
  2. I would be going (20 min. flight) but will be in Couer d'Alene to watch 2 sons compete in their first iron man triathlon.
  3. I would like the blue "unread posts" button moved to the right side of the topic and made larger. It's current location and size makes it hard for my fat finger to push it without hitting the avatar or the topic.
  4. We heard from Janet that they made it in and are camped by Friar Tucks
  5. Looking at NEXRAD, looks like the weather gods are with you.. Clearing out nicely for tomorrow. Wish we were there. Alan & Brenda (Tigger & Karma). Please explain Pepper's "elf ear".
  6. My route on return from MAPA Convention in 2006 was KERV to KCAO for fuel. KCAO to KBJC overnight. KBJC to KEUL for fuel, then KEUL to W28 (home, NW of Seattle.
  7. How much labor is required to change the cowl?
  8. I called Garmin Support before I did my first download to new GTN 750. They were very helpful
  9. I no longer have a prostate (radical prostatectomy in 1999). For some reason my GP insists on performing the digital exam anyway. I accuse him of being deviant.
  10. My grandson (then age 10) threw up in our right front seat without a barf bag at all (they were in the seat back - he didn't say anything about feeling nauseous) - on our way to view total eclipse of the sun in Reno in 2012. It cleaned up OK eventually. I haven't had our barf bags (stolen from airline seats) quality checked. Maybe I should.
  11. My wife just forwarded me this message from one of our Mooney friends. *** are to protect the identities of our friends. From ****...very funny We flew for breakfast to ******* this a.m., very very early, to avoid the heat. All was fine & dandy until we are over ****** just east of ***** on our return and the airport controller is busy and asks us to circle for 7 minutes. OK. Well, quickly NOT ok. It's getting hot by this time and the turns make me sick. Very. Puked a lot, kept my head down & eyes closed...and didn't realize until we landed that the puke bag sprung a leak. So...yep...you can imagine the mess! On me, the seat, the seat belt, the floor....! BIG mess! So, ***** brought me home & went back to the airport to get the seat cover off the seat. Not so easy. After 2 hrs, the seat cover is still on the f&@ng seat and the seat is jammed forward. (** husband **) is not a happy camper. And I got a lecture on how I'm supposed to make sure my puke bags are serviceable! I guess there's some f&@ng puke bag quality assurance procedure that I wasn't aware of!?
  12. N231DH was formerly owned by Tony Birnseth, a Pacific Northwest Monica. Paint job was done in Arizona.
  13. That happened to me at Chandler a few years ago. Filled up one day & took a cousin for a sight seeing flight. Later that day I tried to fill up again at CHD & was declined. If I remember I now call VISA and tell them I'm going to be traveling before I leave
  14. I've stopped at Yerington several times for fuel. One time wind was 25 G35 45 degrees crosswind
  15. Flew frm W. Washington to Pasco in E. Washington for grandaughter's softball tourney. Returned home this morning to pick up two other grandkids and take them to N. Central WA (Omak) to meet up with the other grandpa. Saw this brand new AirTractor on floats. It has an intake nozzle to pick up water as it flies. Omak is the site of big wild fires in past couple of years. Looks like it would be a hoot to fly. Nice 5 blade prop. Flew home VFR between clouds & Cascades
  16. I elected to stay with what's already paid for
  17. I installed GTN 750 & GTX 330 ES in December 2015, and use Stratus for ADS-B in. Two months later the Gatmin 345 was announced. I asked for a quote to swap transponders to get weather on the 750. $4500 to swap. It is not a slide in replacement
  18. I have had this unit for 8-10 years and test it occasionally (push red button and it beeps after test cycle). After reading this thread I decided to run my own test today. I stuck the unit in the exhaust pipe of my Tundra, perfect fit, and ran it for about 2 minutes. Nary a peep from the unit. I think it's time to replace it with a digital sensor.
  19. '96-98 J's have new Ovation style interior, with overhead light switches. Only 19-20 made each year.
  20. I suppose that zero replies gives me an answer to how much support their is to having a PPP on the Pacific Northwest.
  21. Just returned from Denver PPP. I've attended 8 in past 11 years at Tucson, Palm Springs, Santa Maria, Bullhead City and Denver. MAPASF usually needs about 20 pilots to run a session. How many of you would attend a PPP if held in the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR, ID). If enough people would commit perhaps we could get one scheduled up here in the far northwest.
  22. Sunday's flight home from Denver PPP. Rocky Mts. Leaving Denver. Medicine Bow Peak in WY. Snake River at ID OR border. Crossing SEATAC at 6k
  23. Flew from W. Washington to Denver today. I left a day early because of weather system that followed me out. Dodged some rain showers in WY. I'm here for PPP.
  24. I've flown from western Washington to Oshkosh twice and to S. Dakota & Denver crossing the Rockies on V120. 13000 is the highest MEA
