    Please take no offense to this question. With the regulator being down stream of the alternator, why did the investigation stop there? Is the alternator and coupler hard to test on the plane? Do they need to be on the bench to test?

    Again, don't quote me, but I believe it is slang for some kind of compound used in the construction process of the 22 for it to hold its pressure. The story is: The design team declared that the Mustang must "look" like a Mooney. Hence the same style, roll cage frame, as on all Mooney. This style frame does NOT lend itself to be pressurized, leading to the need for more "dope".... My father drew out a round fuselage and pushed for a redesign, but was overruled.

    I also remember him saying that there was a divide in the team about 24 volt and 12 volt electric systems. Something about smaller airports not having 24v available, or something along those lines. Don't quote me.

    My father flew off the certification hours for the Alon, at least a lot of them. They were the last hours in his log book. He also was involved with the M22. Told a story of how much "dope???" they had to use. Cool thread.

    I have wanted a pinned thread with known rentals. There are some scattered throughout the US. Floris Aviation in Midland Texas has an Ovation that they rent. Five hour drive from Austin or more I'm aorry to say.

    My thoughts are to PM @Parker_Woodruff He is a well respected choice for transition/currency. You could converse with @LANCECASPER about going from turbo to 310hp O's. He has direct experience with that, as do many others I am sure (not me ) GOOD LUCK.
