  1. At KHEF.....I have a 67 M20F in case you decide to purchase an F instead of a J.
  2. Hey those are the same lights installed in the B-52 I fly for my day job....we call them C-4 lamps, but no idea where that name came from. All the B-52s are '60 and '61 models....so they're vintage as well! If it is indeed the same model light, then to remove the housing cover you remove the 2-3 screws located around the perimeter of the base. You can see one screw there partially under the placard sticker labeled "OFF--DIM----BRIGHT". Once you remove the perimeter screws then the entire housing slides off and the bulb is exposed. Bulb is a quarter turn to remove. Hope this helps.
  3. Brand new Whelen Red/white 14V beacon for sale. Purchased it but never installed after deciding to upgrade to an Orion 360. Never installed and in perfect working order. $280/OBO
  4. I own a 67 M20F.....670093! Must have rolled off the line just a bit after yours did. The FAA considers mine a '67 and it matches the data plate as well. Great airplanes! Enjoy yours!
  5. Please let me know if anyone has a Flight Stream 210 for sale.
  6. Freeway Aviation - Highly recommend Tom at Freeway Aviation…..he completed the annual on my 67 M20F this year. Excellent service and excellent results! As a new owner, I appreciated that Tom spent an entire afternoon with me going through the aircraft and showing me everything RPM Aviation - I have heard great things and multiple recommendations for RPM aviation…..I don’t think you can go wrong with Byron either! Two good options in the area.
  7. The second landing light sounds like a win....although I hear LASAR is not offering that anymore. What oil cooling efficiencies do you gain with the relocation? Does the relocation also increase or enhance airflow/cooling in pre-J models resulting in lower CHTs during climb or more uniform CHTs? Just curious as to the benefits compared to the cost if the second landing light is out?
  8. Does LASAR sell the wedge on its own or only part of the kit? I have the wedge with the new dash, but I am missing the wedge.
  9. I have a 67 M20F and I'd love to have right side brakes. I have not full looked into the kit but I have heard they are very hard to find/expensive to install Slowly teaching both my kids with them flying in the right seat. Not optimal....but if they learn the basics in the right seat they'll do even better when they transition to a cessna to solo and finish their PPL Most of my time is in the right seat from civilian and military instructing so I actually enjoy flying from the right seat more anyways
  10. Do we know the cost for a set? I'm interested in having one on standby for the future....right now mine just cleared annual and are fine.
  11. Seth, Glad to see the "Hank" is flying again and you're happy with the outcome! I haven't been to OshKosh yet....hopefully next year since it'll reopen because you have your plane back! Is all parking and most of the taxiing on the grass? Did insurance cover any portions of your replacement costs or was it all out of pocket? Congrats and looking forward to seeing how the aircraft performs for you!
  12. Awesome! I'll be checking the calendar and I hope to attend..this will be my first Mooney summit as well!
  13. I am interested in the JPI-900 as well if Charles passes on it.
  14. I agree....take it back to the MSC.....or take a trip to Texas....See Don Maxwell.
  15. Good to know.....upgrading to a 900 is on my wish list.
  16. Does JPI ever run a trade-in upgrade program similar to some of the trade in programs to upgrade from a GNS-430W to a IFD or a GTN? I haven't seen any trade-in/upgrade programs for the JPI yet.
  17. I have an EDM830 in my 67F....are the fuel level sensors typically updated when an EDM830 is installed? I've noticed my fuel burn is within .2 to.3 gallons after a long flight and a refuel so they're very accurate. I've considered upgrading to the EDM900 to gain the advantage of primary engine instruments and forego the old analog cluster....but curious about overall install and associated costs.
  18. I have the STEC 60-2 with electric trim.....no yaw dampener. Most of my flight hours are in heavies, with full fledged autopilots and pitch/yaw SAS dampeners, so I know what it does for large aircraft. What type autopilot do you have and what does the yaw dampener change in terms of performance for an aircraft with one versus without? Curious what performance I would gain by having one.
  19. I have a 67 M20F.....what are the details on the silicone door seal? Is it glue on or self adhesive? Cost? Curious how you install....and where to order!
  20. My planes name is "About Average"....homage to a B-24 my squadron flew back in WWII. Plus if you say it's about average then it better be good! Although, my daughter named it Betsy.....since it is Red, White, and Blue just like the American Flag. The airplane always finds a name that suits it and the family that flies it!
  21. I too am looking at installing a GAD13 to enable TAS and winds aloft on my G5. My current set up: Dual G5/HSI with magnetometer, GNS430W, Aera660, EDM830, GTX345 Chief Aircraft sells the GAD13, with harness and DAVTRON probe for $289.95 https://www.chiefaircraft.com/gmn-gad-13-kit.html Looks like install can range from 6-8 hours to install on the wing inspection panel where the JPI thermocouple is. It would be nice if Garmin enabled a "talk through" via something other than the CAN BUS to remove the need for a GAD13 and separate probe, but will they? I don't know? In any case it is on my list!
  22. Previous owner resealed both tanks at Wet Wingologist in FL just before I bought the aircraft.... They resealed both tanks and repaired/resealed around the sumps. High quality work and no issues. Highly recommend them, but I have heard great things about Weep No More as well. If travel is an issue, I'd choose whoever was closer/able to schedule you in.
  23. What is the "Pre-flown avionics shelf at Alan's house"? Website or Facebook? Haven't seen this site....
  24. Thinwing, I had a FAR interpretation question recently regarding regarding military medicals. I tried calling the Washington DC FSDO....No Joy, so..... I submitted the question via email to the Washington DC Main FSDO. I had a reply within an hour from an FAA Rep who was teleworking and he answered everything via email. I'd try that route. Here's the link: https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/dca/contact/ There's a link to email a question. Sheriff
  25. I’ve been using BWI insurance and they’ve beat every other company I looked into. Some others didn’t want to count my military flight time even though I had all my civilian FAA ratings before joining the Air Force, but BWI did. Highly recommend them.
