  1. Well........WHAT HAPPENED?????????
  2. Actually, sorry, I disagree. I have found my guys have put connectors back into the backplate and not tightened the screws all the way either on the connector as it attaches to the backplate or on the backplate attachment to the rack and it does cause intermittent/hard failures. Now, I also totally agree with you and check the connections. The encoders have also been know to go south and did the GTX345 get installed with the GAE12 or tapped into the existing encoder?
  3. Mark is right, the improvements they have made are simply phenomenal! Bottom line, like we tell all of our customers, PS Engineering, in my opinion, is the best in their niche because "It's What They Do". They do not try to put their hand into Nav, GPS, AP, FMS, Transponders, they are the best at what they do for a reason and they are more than happy to stay that way!!!! Hats off to you Mark!!!!! Keep up the great work!!! We appreciate all you have done and are doing!!!
  4. Where are you located?
  5. The AP is the same basic one as listed here. Virtually no differences, just certification: https://www.dynonavionics.com/autopilot-overview.php
  6. Fair, have you looked at the Aspens also?
  7. I don't think it will be "Cheaper" Maybe it will be a bit more, but if you go with the HDX AP, you get more functionality. That's basically the only differences. There is only a few things that the TruTrak would do independently from the EFIS and the Navigator would end up controlling on LPV and most vertical nav routes.
  8. Just out of curiosity, why wasn't this suggested in the earlier post?
  9. I am sorry about that, maybe look at alternatives. There are some out there.
  10. Why would you selectively install the HDX in that way? You would be wasting valuable resources and limiting the amazing awareness you COULD have. Its like buying a truck for $60k with full trailer hook-ups and a 5th wheel hitch in the back and you don't even own a 5th wheel and have never backed up a trailer before AND don't plan on buying one ever! It just isn't mart to go that route, in my opinion. This system comes ready to go and we have never done or suggested a partial installation like that because it just doesn't make sense at all. Nothing will really be displayed on it if you keep your exiting units. Think about it. Why spend that money? Sorry, rant is over now. I apologize.
  11. You can pretty much bet on a $25-30k parts and labor. Use the Dynon ADS-B solution and sell the one you have currently. That is the suggestion I would give. Do it once and do it right.
  12. No, you would use your navigator for that as Dynon is not set up for and probably will not go that route as the price point will then be blown out of the water.
  13. Well, all I will say is there is a reason why I am not a fan of Garmin, LOL. Aside from that, it seems like you may have had a ground issue or maybe a bus issue. Now, IF there was a "surge" would it be evident in everything that has power to it? Mags, Lights, switches, CBs, etc....is everything working now? Was it mainly things on the Avionics Bus and nothing on the battery bus? Those are the anomalies that need answered and explained to go any further. Did anything else "burn up? Were all of thiose units hooked to the same grounding point and there is an issue there? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!
  14. So you like the Aspen as well? Have you sold a lot of those this year as well?
  15. Great! How many have you done so far? They are a great system
  16. I didn't see you listed as an Authorized Dynon Certified Installation Center on their website. Welcome aboard, just haven't seen you listed on there.
  17. Not too bad!! Have your Avionics Shop go into Maintenance mode to see if it does it there as well. If not, have them replace the Config module. Weird issues like this can be caused by a bad config module. Just a shot
  18. About $1500 flat rate repair per the Garmin Price Book
  19. Well, you need to make a selection as far as a navigator goes, I recommend Avidyne IFD series. That being said, $35k-40k without the actual cost of the navigator. Add the cost of the navigator accordingly.
  20. Well, we can either take "What we just dealt with..." as gospel and not move forward, or keep pressing on! I've been doing this crazy dance for over 30 years in Avionics and you HAVE to keep pressing on! Together we can do it, it is all in the delivery and unity. I understand what you mean, but I, for one, am not giving up on you all!
  21. Where are you located? I have a 106A I will ship for troubleshooting
  22. You get 5 Mooney owners together that will get deposits together and I will get the AP for the Mooney pushed through
  23. It actually is Certified for the Mooney
  24. So, there are 14 Certified Dynon Installation Centers in the world.....until today! There are officially 15 Dynon Certified Installation Centers in the world and the 15th is BAKER AVIONICS!!!!!! What have you heard about the system and does anyone have experience with it? The good, the bad, the ugly. Aaannnnnnnddddddd........GO!
  25. Call EI, talk to David Primmer and give him the SN of the unit and he will tell you what it really is and help with any questions you may have.
