  1. Questions: Where are you planning on getting this done? What is the time frame? Can you email me these pics at the email below with a return email and contact info? Now, suggestion: Move the suction gauge and the "Idiot Lights" where the GPS Annunciator is currently and/or slide your "Idiot Lights" up, just above the AI G5 if there is room. Personally, I would slide the "Backup Gauges" under the EDM for Aesthetics as it would line up pretty well and then you will have a cleaner, less busy looking, Right Hand Panel and then the Area Mount would fit in the middle and/or do a RAM Mount for an IPad in which it can display info for you and act as another EFIS Screen. Just Spitballing here,
  2. Dang it! Well, I am sure you know other pilots. Let them know, then come help them or if they don't want to do it, see if you can do it for them. Just a thought.
  3. @MarauderWhat? Are you serious? .......Just kidding! I know! Tech these days are just not what they used to be when I grew up in the industry. I have to supervise virtually every aspect of the projects and still things get missed by them. I understand that there is a level of supervision that would be needed, but because of the costs these days and the "You can't know what is behind the black curtain" mentality by most places, they are allowed to charge outrageous amounts for their labor. I just do not agree as most of the time, the mechanics are not exactly the brightest light in the room. My 13 and 14 year old sons do a heck of a job and usually a LOT better than my "guys" full time. I am actually going to reduce my work force and have my sons help me and honestly, we get projects done faster working part time, as a team, than working with full timers. Just rambling here. LOL
  4. Personally, I don't really think you would need it if you have a Rudder Trim System installed and I would sell and install it, if you really wanted it. However, if you were to ask my opinion, as one of my customers, I would suggest you NOT do it because I agree, you really aren't getting as much as what you are paying for on a long body. Just my opinion.
  5. Ok, just curious, who would be interested in doing their ADS-B, GTN, GFC, G5 or any other Avionics Upgrades as an "Owner Assisted? I am a HUGE proponent in doing that and will accommodate this if anyone is interested. Tell me your thoughts, questions and/or concerns. Now understand, the labor costs would be lower but parts still remain the same. What say you?
  6. "Preach It" Reverend "Rocket"!!!!!
  7. As far as the additional time? I am guessing an additional 10-15 hours at the most. The install is pretty straight forward and I, personally, am willing to have owners assist in the installation because it would keep the costs down for them. I would concentrate on the Wiring and they can concentrate on the mechanical parts of the installation. To me, THAT is what is lacking in this industry. We used to have that type of maintenance, I call it "The Mayberry Feel". That is actually one of my motto's for my company.
  8. For the Yaw Damper Install, there is a support shelf that holds the Pitch and Yaw servos that comes with the kit when purchased. It is attached via "tube ends" in which the bridle cables of the servos are then attached to. As far as Rudder Trim, it only comes with a Pitch Trim System which is optional and it is controlled on the Yoke
  9. PM me your email address. I will send you some info
  10. #donkaye see above. The M20M IS on the AML
  11. If memory serves me correct, it should be available within the next few months, around the same time as the TruTrak. Go figure!!!!
  12. I think to keep the vintage look, keep the "Steam Gauge" look on a tilted panel towards the pilot's seat with instruments like this:
  13. Its truly not that difficult to do. It is mostly about wording. Anyone worth their weight has had to do things like this in the past and it is simply "Creative Writing 101" that needs to be adhered to.
  14. If anyone has any questions about the GFC 500, let me know. The installation is pretty simple and I can help as much as I can. Not that this is breaking news or anything, but.......The STC has been approved for some models, see below: 1.10 Mooney M20M, M20R, M20S The documents in Table 1-10 apply to Mooney M20M, M20R, and M20S aircraft that were manufactured without Garmin G1000 Integrated Flight Deck Systems. 15. Are you looking for the installation Addendum for the GFC 500 in the Mooney?
  16. If you like the Black rough finish, use some ABS Plastic Sheets. It comes out pretty slick and is SUPER inexpensive!
  17. If not, come to California for a bit and I will take care of you!
  18. Jay, the "feed" from the GNS-530W to the HSI and the Autopilot are actually the same lines. They come from the 530W, then spliced into 2 wires and one goes to the HSI and the other to the Autopilot. The same lines feed both units basically. I can get you a print of the system if you would like to reference the issue. Let me know if I can help out. I would love to. It seems like it could be the "ILS Energize" line to the AP or a connector not completely seated. Just a WAG.
  19. Welcome aboard Jesse! What all are you doing to remove the Vacuum System? Also, the electric trim should work with a "Pitch Trim" servo from the GFC500, correct?
  20. I can give you the retail for the units if you would like for the system with 4 servos. basically each servo is $1500.00, Controller is $2900, install kits are about 700 for each servo.
  21. If you ever need updates for the Garmin systems, shoot me a message. I will get any and all you need. Just let me know.
  22. Type of Audio Panel? Also ground the power supplies at the battery. Just a solution we have found.
  23. @hypertech check you PM. I sent you the complete Installation Manual for your aircraft of the Autopilot System. Hope it helps
  24. That is understandable and I hope I was clear that I am not trying to belittle or put him down. He seems very very knowledgeable and passionate for the industry, which is amazing! I hope to chat more with him in the future. He seems very respectful and respectable as well. Just wanting to clarify what he was saying and to get more insight. I respect everyone here and in the industry because we are all in this together.
  25. I understand, also, are those "10%" in GA or "Heavy Iron? Please forgive me if I sounded harsh, I am just trying to make a point because the other day, we went through 3 different units before all was given a green light. It isn't all on the shops, but a lot is, I agree. Thank you for the information Jerry
