  1. This is pretty scary stuff - also just saw the other post about the fuel leak caused by an undertorqued fitting...really sobering.
  2. Great idea Ryan. I’d be willing to help too.
  3. Just saw it and subscribed. Nicely done. Which editing software are you using - it was very smooth.
  4. @mike_elliott thank you very much for the update and for all that you are doing. Donation sent. I am really devastated to hear the medical update. This is a really sad outcome. I am really touched by our community and how we come together to support each other in times of tragedy.
  5. Cool! Just bought my ticket and looking forward to this. Thanks for organizing!!
  6. Fantastic video. Congratulations on a great career!
  7. +1 for the G2. I upgraded the older 610 earlier this year and could not be happier. I love being able to log and chart engine parameters. The color display is very easy to use the G2 is agreat device.
  8. In case I misunderstood- the ESP checklist is a passenger briefing for emergencies - if you want a type specific checklist, they have very nice ones in different sizes, http://www.checkmateaviation.com/mooney-m20tn-acclaim.html I use the type specific one for my plane and the emergencies are on the reverse side.
  9. Those look like Bruce's sun shades. I have a set and they work great. https://www.aircraftcovers.com/M201
  10. I use a generic one from Checkmate which works pretty well. http://www.checkmateaviation.com/esp-checkmate-emergency-substitute-pilot.html
  11. This would be a great idea. One of the leading Cirrus dealers (I used to own a Cirrus in a past life) is putting out a special edition refurbished Cirrus. http://aircraft.steelaviation.com/aircraft-single.cfm?aircraft=2067 I think it would be really cool to do something similar with some of the older Mooneys - take some of the older airframes with run-out engines / older avionics / worn interiors and replace with the latest and greatest.
  12. I really like the perspectIve you achieved. How did you mount between the seats? It seemed to be very solid.
  13. Very nice video and nicely done overall!! Looking forward to meeting you in person at the next West Coast Mooney Club fly in!
  14. I looked at the flight track again and it looks like whatever happened to cause him to start to descend happened 7 minutes into the flight right after he turned to a heading of 323 to go on course. Approx. 7 minutes into the flight, his speed drops from 120-130 kts down to 100 kts and climb rate evaporates and he begins a gradual 1200 fpm descent. When he started to descend, he turned to a heading of 180-190 rather than turning all the way back to 110 which would have put him on a direct heading to KDVT. He continued on the 180-190 heading for another 3-4 minutes and lost approx. 4000 feet then turned towards KDVT and his descent rate increased to 1400 fpm and speed decreased to 93-106 but unfortunately came up short approximately 3 minutes later. So we have a 7 minute descent from approx. 9000 feet seemingly under control and initially away from the nearest airport - although the initial southerly track looks like he may have been aiming for KGEU which is a bit further.
  15. That does look phenomenal!! Nicely done!
  16. This accident is really bothering me. New airplane, apparently a pilot with recent transition training, a possible engine issue but at higher altitude, urban terrain but several golf courses and open areas within gliding range...all unfortunately resulting in a horrible ending. I don't want to speculate about what happened but I do hope we get good insight about the accident and the events (hopefully from the pilot - prayers for a quick recovery).
  17. Very cool. I am considering having this done to my plane. My paint is original factory (20 years old) but as the plane has been hangared since new, it's in fairly good shape. I wonder how this would work on older paint...Anyone try it on an older paint job?
  18. Congratulations Austin. Thank you for sharing. Very cool video!!
  19. This is a terrible tragedy. Prayers for the pilot - hope he pulls through and can move past this. The most shocking thing is that it looks the plane was just new delivered last week. Brand new Mooney!! We all dream of flying one - this dream unfortunately ended in a nightmare. Am really interested to know what happened and how it could go so wrong so quickly... Sad day for GA and for Mooneys...
  20. Congratulations Jimmy on the new venture.
  21. This is a great feature...but unfortunately they did not add the 205 to the list of enabled aircraft. I wrote to them and begged them to add it. They said they will note the request but could not promise when they will update with the 205 data. Anyone that has a MSE/ 205 / Allegro pls write them and maybe they will expedite.
  22. Looks pretty good / oil temp looks to be in the sweet spot and CHT is not too bad. You may want to get engine an analyzer to get per cylinder CHT and EGT.
  23. I looked at the Aero-Lites website and was about to buy the lights when I noticed that there awe not PMA approved and clearly noted as not for use on certificated products and for experimental use only...bummer.
  24. Ditto. Had an STec 55X on a Cirrus and it had the same behavior - it would only intercept if I was below the glideslope and it descended into the zone. Typically, if coming in above the glideslope, I’d have to go down manually to intercept and then it would engage.
  25. I also recommend Jimmy Garrison at AAA - he keeps a list of buyers ready to buy and can quickly connect buyer and seller for a painless deal.
