  1. Only if you don't have an independent backup for altitude, attitude and airspeed and are running sw versions 2.10 or 2.10.1.
  2. I guess not everyone updated. Seems like a way to force the update.
  3. FAA is adopting a new AD for Aspen systems running software version 2.10 and 2.10.1 without independent backup instruments for attitude, airspeed and altitude. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2020/07/31/2020-16592/airworthiness-directives-aspen-avionics-inc I’m glad I got the GI275 as a backup...everyone affected should get the software update before August 17, 2020.
  4. Congratulations!! Can’t wait to see the pictures!! I’m sure you’ve probably discussed this with others but just in case - please make sure to have a thorough pre-purchase inspection done by a mechanic with good Mooney experience. It will establish a good ownership foundation and start your Mooney experience on the right foot!! Very exciting - you will love the plane! Go Mooney!!
  5. Maybe we can have a Mooney washing party!!
  6. It’s a little far south but KSEE has a wash rack in the East transient ramp to the east of the terminal (between 27L and 35).
  7. Nice interior!! If it's similar to the late model J seats, they are removable. The 2 latches are for reclining the backrest and you pull up on them to adjust. To remove, you would take the seat cushions off, remove the back cover and fold the backs into the seat pan. The late model POH has a good description.
  8. LOL!! I still like my Aspen.
  9. WOW!! That is a dream aircraft!! Someone will be very lucky to snatch her up!!
  10. Congratulations on getting her home. That first trip back home in your Mooney is always special! Here is the GPU unit that I use to hangar fly the avionics in my J: https://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/24v-power-supply-with-3-pin-plug-6136a-399-00.html
  11. That is so cool!!
  12. You may want to contact Jimmy Garrison Jimmy@AllAmericanAircraft.com/ 1-830-438-4081.
  13. This is just unbelievable. I simply cannot imagine what would cause a pilot to refuse to comply to ATC instructions like this. If there was a safety of flight issue issue/ or if he had declared I can understand it - but this is just not acceptable. Maybe he forgot that you have to be cleared into Class B - not just establish 2 way communication with the controller...
  14. Doesn't it? According to a CPI inflation calculator (https://www.in2013dollars.com/us/inflation/1994?amount=1) $1 in 1994 is approx. $1.74 in 2020. Using that math, a new Mooney in 2020 should be $278K with an empty panel...Hmmm....is it all due to higher volume in '94?
  15. I just remembered I have a copy of Those Remarkable Mooneys - so was able to find the following:
  16. Check out the information on this site http://www.mooneyevents.com/chrono.htm and download the spreadsheet for the detailed history. Apparently, the Limited meant that there was a paint change.
  17. Here is an Allegro POH - it’s the one after the MSE. https://pilotage.e-monsite.com/medias/files/m20j-poh3203b.pdf
  18. Beautiful scenery and nice video - but what happened to the landing?
  19. Thanks. PM sent.
  20. Orange label or black label? I’m looking for a G2 orange label. Thx
  21. Small bit of trivia - the Producer and Director, David E. Jackson has about 500 hours in Mooneys and absolutely loves flying them. He told me that Bill Cox still owns and flies a Mooney and absolutely loves it!! Go Mooney!!
