  1. My wife loves the fact that we can take the kid, currently 5 months, out of his car seat and nurse him as we barrel along at 140kts. She laments road trips and not being able to do that. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. Appreciate the feedback on the front right seat. You had me laughing out loud with this section. [emoji1787] Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  3. Facts don't drive the government. Stop bringing them into the discussion, you'll just make the bureaucrats even more confused. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  4. Wife finally approved of a new paint job for the moonship. Is Hawk still the place to go? Email quote was$16k for a short body.
  5. My wife and I keep having this conversation. Translation, I keep wanting to upgrade and she keeps finding ways to continue to make our E work. I just shared this photo in a different thread. We've found that when traveling together (not our primary plane mission), pulling the front right seat leaves her with a lot of room to care for our child in the back. Not shown in the foreground was 2 large luggage items. Behind them was our pack and play and a few other bulky items. I did the W&B multiple different ways, TO and landing, and we were inside the envelope the whole time. We both would like a 2nd child in the next year or so. Hopefully by then child 1 can sit right seat way forward, leaving her and youngest in the back. I brought this up on the FB group a month or so back. Our working plan at that point is just to fly with overnight bags and ship anything we need to the designation FBO. Should work until they size out. Don't want a flying SUV any sooner or longer than necessary Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  6. I'm really close to your size. My 20E fits great. We're starting to ferry around a little alien replica and he plus my wife fit pretty well in there together Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  7. I got a Dynon D3 portable. Came with a mount for a 3in hole that I intend to use full time with a power supply from a spare port in my panel. If it's just backup, I'd say this will do nicely, probably at the lowest price point Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  8. I keep waiting... and seeking all-sorts of guidance. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  9. Agreed. Price seems quite aggressive for that equipment. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  10. Wonder if the instructor has changed any habits after seeing the results of signing off someone who they knew wasn't ready? How sad the copilot wanted to learn since she didn't trust the right seater. I wouldn't fly with someone I didn't trust. Those photos make me queezy. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  11. That's not the case. I legally pulled my vacuum system and artificial horizon based on the paperwork for the E5. Technically, by the paperwork, the only backup instruments you have in a efis failure situation is the turn coordinator and whiskey compass. Honestly I think this whole Aspen failure stuff is nonsense. I'm ditching the unit and putting in dual G5s once the Garmin autopilot becomes live for the short bodies. 12. What I find interesting is that the E5s have been documented to fail the same way in flight and this letter says nothing towards those units. I'd like to know how those escaped the AD. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  13. that valuation tool said it was only worth +/- $135k, if you used 2000 hrs on engine and $110k if you used 3100 hrs. Curious to know what the buyer negotiated.
  14. Interesting to note, on the mooney flyer tool, it keeps subtracting dollars beyond 2000 hrs. https://themooneyflyer.com/valuation/M20RValuation.html Wouldn't a run out engine at 2000 hrs be worth the same as one with 3100 hrs? Apparently someone did have a plan for this engine. Plane is already in PPI.
  15. I've had to read it a few times to understand what I think I do. But still not certain. I reached out to the seller, we'll see what he can add. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  16. Currently described as 3090 SFOH. Is this engine 900 or 3100? How does one value this on a potential purchase?
  17. Heard a rumour that TT is trying an alternate angle to motivate the FAA on this approval. Fingers crossed. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  18. If you went avidyne navigator, it's realistically best to wait for Dynon and their AP. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  19. And at the same time, Garmin keeps running full steam ahead..... To the victors go the spoils I guess. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  20. Agree 100%. Early bird gets the worm. Im ready to go fishing. Excuses don't catch fish.
  21. So Garmin is charging full steam ahead. Still nothing from TT. About to book a slot to add the GFC 500 for my E. Tired of waiting. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. I'm in love! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  23. Interesting point. I hadn't considered the chute more than an occasional use safety gimmick but can see why it's a must in some situations like this. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  24. Honestly, I really do like my E5. I'd encourage anyone to purchase it with the understanding that not having a backup AI is unacceptable, even though the STC says you can ditch it. I had been using a 2nd iPad and a stratus for that but just recently picked up a Dynon D3 pocket panel gizmo to keep permanently in one of my spare round holes. Should be a good solution. If you want a built in backup AI, that would be the main thing that would give the G5s an edge, imo Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  25. from memory, they were around 1470 as I was climbing 110 IAS.
