  1. Fun stuff. I'd say you're overthinking it but I don't need a stolen plane on my conscience. Oxford isn't without crime but it's pretty close. I graduated 2005 and never had any issues with theft and I had some really nice bikes in my dorm at the time. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. We're flying out to Sedona in 5 weeks and Im sure my wife will download some netflix onto the ipad on that side. Will definitely watch better horizontally for her.
  3. What made you choose KHOA over HOXD?
  4. Congrats. Should be well worth the investment. I have an iPad doc right side that sits horizontally. Honestly don’t like it. I’d encourage you to find a way to mount it vertically or omit the dock all together and just build in a knuckle and ram mount instead. All your approach plates are vertical and it makes no sense to me having the iPad sideways. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Just saw they released this video on the book face. Congrats on the progress!
  6. Appreciate your input. I wasn’t seeking what the plane’s value is currently. I was more curious the groups take on that 1 missing log book is. Lord willing my next one will be a kero burning 6 seat Mooney and a few thousand on the sale won’t be very noticeable. Thanks yalls for engaging the thought experiment.
  7. Roughly 500 hrs at this point
  8. Honestly when I first insured it, I told the broker what it had on it and he started rattling off this was worth that much, three blades worth so much and told me it booked in their eyes at that point. Since then I’ve added an aspen and had weep no more seal the tanks. Jimmy said $65k sight unseen
  9. No. As I was telling Andy, this is my first plane and I just don’t know if these inns and outs of the ownership parade
  10. @Andy95W and his buddy Mark stopped by today in Marks 62C. It was great to meet some MSers and we had a great time. They even brought gifts with them. We got to looking over my logs for another purpose and it came to light that my very first airframe logbook is missing. Most likely a prior owner didn't have it and now I don't either. Andy and I thought it would be fun to see what the group here thinks that one missing log book will reduce, if anything, my plane's value. My E is a 64. The oldest logbook I have starts in 71 and are complete from then forward. I have it insured at $70k and would probably sell it for that if someone pressed me to do so. Is it now worth less since that first log book is AWOL?

  12. Awe snap. The conspiracy is deeper than I initially thought
  13. The guy is totally doing it for PR. Just found a mention http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2019/08/21/half-moon-bay-plane-crash-david-lesh/ that he owns https://virtika.com/ which was conveniently linked in a news article. What a joke.
  14. To itch my curiosity, I just did a google search for YouTube income. Looks like is $0.003 - $0.01 per view. This link ( https://millennialmoney.com/how-much-do-youtubers-make/ ) shred this “A recent German study showed that about 97% of all aspiring YouTubers probably won’t make it across the U.S. poverty line ($12,140). And even if you make it to the top 3%, you’re looking at an average advertising revenue of about $16,800 a year – which is, like I said, not very much” i love a guy from your old area, demolition ranch. He consistently has multi million view videos each week. He’s making bank. I doubt there is anyone flying and making any real money off it. Maybe chops but he sold out to do it.
  15. I don't recall the name but there was a situation in the recent past where a (different) younger guy did that a number of times. Guess his game was to buy assets from salvage type situations, insure them for full value and then pocket the difference when he totalled them. Started with an Italian sports car, belive a high end yacht was involved, then a single engine plane, then I belive he got caught while videoing himself in a twin as he ditched in the gulf. Believe the net result was prison for insurance fraud. People will do anything for those subscribes and likes. Not saying this one did. But like Paul said, there is real money involved and that makes for real motivation. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  17. Why can't they allow both data sources? Competition is always better for the consumer. That's my only point here. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. Not impressed. We've been hassling them in their FB group to partner with Seatle Avionics and they give us this instead. Meh. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  21. The insurance is a consideration but provided that has no factor, I would do it Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  22. Back to the autopilot topic, my dealer has ordered and installed one since the buyout and said business as usual. Hope we can get the STC and install done before BK "adjusts" their pricing to afford the purchase. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  23. #16 is my favorite. I saved it and will use it for inspiration when I do mine next year. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
