  2. Back in the day Cessna's were considered VW's of the sky. I thought my ole 63C was my Corvette. I now think of my 84k as an upgraded Corvette. Pritch
  3. Installed the DAC GPSS along with the GTN750 in March and just love it. Great for shooting approaches, nice and smooth Pritch
  4. How high do geese fly? Canada geese fly in a distinctive V-shaped flight formation, with an altitude of 1 km (3,000 feet) for migration flight. The maximum flight ceiling of Canada geese is unknown, but they have been reported at 9 km (29,000 feet). Canada goose - Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_Canada_Goose
  5. I got my Basic Med last fall from our local AME, I was the last one he did. Because he is not covered by FAA medical insurance like he is for the regular medicals he no longer does them. That being said so far I have had no problems with it, have no plans to go to Mexico or Canada and have yet had no plans to go over 18,000 Ft. The online quiz that you have to take every two years is not hard as long as you read the text before you take it. Pritch
  6. When I bought my m20k 2.5 years ago, she came with Aerosheep seat covers. They are very comfortable. Decided to have them cleaned and while they were out I kept flying, holey carp I could not wait to get them back in. I highly recommend them. Pritch
  7. Similar planes and similar panels. Pritch
  8. Your best bet is to call JPI and ask them, it's not rocket science, I installed mine from the ground up with guidance from my I/A. I installed the basics and at each annual I add more sensors. The 730/830 should just be plug and play with sensors you have now. Pritch
  9. I hope you are following the tread in Modern Moneys by Coffee Can, "231 Power Settings" and research articles by jlunseth, he has written some great stuff Pritch
  10. At our EAA meeting yesterday, one member who flies for CALFIRE has some interesting information about the TFR's. When flying anywhere near a TFR, monitor 122.925 the one frequency that all CALFIRE planes are on. The size of the TFR changes daily and may not be reflected correctly on Forflight and other sites. If you are unsure do not hesitate to call the Fire Boss on 122.925, you may be surprised that you might be able to travel through the TFR. Also on Forflight if you tap on the TFR and then in the info box tap the (>) and bring up additional info there will be a frequency for that particular fire and you can contact the fire boss. An interesting fact about the 747 being used to fight fires, one load of fire retardant cost the taxpayers $75,000 where as for the small S2's that are mostly used runs a mere $2,000. The sky is smoky so fly safe. (That is JUST for the retardant). Pritch
  11. I know the feeling, I have her younger sister, born in March of 84. Pritch
  12. A great resource for clouds and their recent movements is WWW.climate.cod.edu, great to keep on your Ipad. Here on the North Coast of CA it is great for watching the trend of the fog. Pritch
  13. And while you are at it throw that CO card as far as you can and get a real CO sniffer, a couple hundred bucks may just save you life someday. Pritch Ck white gizmo bottom center
  14. I may make it on Sunday, depends on the smoke and coast fog Pritch
  15. It has been very smoky out here in Oregon and Calif. and you can easily get suckered in to thinking you can see through the stuff and then it has got you. Pritch PS picture is on top at 12.5K and you can't see the ground.
  16. Nice looking C Pritch
  17. Here is another one to contemplate Pritch
  18. I also have the JPI 450 and when I call them they said to just piggy back onto it for fuel flow
  19. Its not that hard, I installed my 830 myself with an occasional look over my shoulder from my I/A. First do you have a fuel flow already and GPS? Second are you and your partners anywhere mechanically inclined? It took me about 35 hours total running all the wires and installing the probes. Pritch
  20. I go to the local Jobber and pick up my oil, a case of Philip wc20/50 is $62 out the door CA sales tax included (8.5%). Pritch
  21. Easy Peasy, came back from Oshgosh years ago in my 63C. Went from Fon du lac to Pierre SD, to Livingston MT, Spokane and then shot down to Northern Ca. All at 10.5K or lower. Just follow interstate 90 and then across Washington to Tacoma. Pritch
  22. My wife would like to know camera setting and lens that she used Pritch
  23. Don't know if this will help but it is some drawings I downloaded a couple of yrs ago for I believe a DYI pedal extension. Pritch scan rudder0001.pdf
  24. Following with interest, my Mistress just came out the Avionics shop after an upgrade and I just noticed today my overhead lights and clock are not working. Will investigate the 5 amp fuse tomorrow. Pritch
  25. I would say that a previous owner put in some tubing with a pull wire to make it easier to add new wires for additional equipment without having to remove the side panels again. I did this to my old 63C back in the early 90's. Just a little Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Pritch
