  1. @Yetti I have the same plug cleaner, it’s just mounted in the box. @carusoam only one milling machine, I installed a CNC conversion 15 years ago and had left the hand wheels so it was just a matter of turning the unit off, luckily all the features were done except for 1 and the axis failed after the 1st pass for the profile and was able the hit the Emergency Stop before it came around and trashed the part
  2. Congrats on your new bird, great story.
  3. Better late than never?
  4. I’m not sure if the 70° stems are available for the 5” tires on the nose. The nose wheel isn’t near the pain the mains were, or at least not for me.
  5. Yep, there was a discussion on these a few months back. The straight rubber stems fail doe to being in a constant bind, 90° metal stem set too close the wheel. Both make it a PITA to service, 70° stems solves these issues.
  6. Umm? you sold your Mooney...sorry you asked... MooneySpace is one the most active forums I've ever been on and if I sell my Mooney they will have to kick me out....lol
  7. I started using it on boats back in the early 90’s, the stuff works really well but I’d be hesitant using it on an intake boot where if it did come loose it could get sucked into the carb/fuel servo
  8. Didn't you say that all the way to the right engages the starter and pushing in activates the Shower of Sparks? If this is the case the switch is wire incorrectly? That is just the opposite of the design, full right activates the SOS and pushing in engages the starter
  9. So what did he find on your switch where the SOS & starter is reversed?
  10. So what was your theories on errors? I went through the motion on mine because I found several W&B sheets in all the paper work that came with plane (several with the date obscured) and had no real way of knowing which was current. If you do it by the book and double ck your math you’ll have a W&B that is correct.
  11. It won’t download on mobile devices (ph, tablet) it will download to a PC
  12. Unless they have changed drastically over the 1st generation they won’t drop the temp at all. I tried one by placing it in my E and venting the exhaust outside (which you can’t do in flight). I opened both the cabin and baggage doors to air out the cabin while it was inside my hangar the closed it all up and let it run for over an hour and never got the temp to drop even one degree. They do blow cool air and considered plumbing it into the overhead vents but decided it wasn’t worth the trouble
  13. Just a quick comparison, my CG is farther back than yours and your nose wheel weight is 50ish lbs more. I'm guessing mine is accurate do to the fact it was done twice, 1st one was miss-placed and found several days later and it had been re-weighed, I was there for both weigh ins.
  14. I have it at the hangar, will set a reminder and get it posted for you
  15. If it was weighed according to the MM, fuel & oil should have been drained so there shouldn’t be anything for oil or fuel on the worksheet
  16. Net weight is off by a tenth .... really need to see the previous also
  17. Really surprised no one has posted anything yet (not the norm for MS). I’ll try and post a link once I’m on something other than my ph. in the meantime you might want to add where the flight home would originate from.... early congrats, hope it all comes together
  18. Ok, Title has been changed to reflect yet another $500 solution to $100 problem. I’ve been using a cheap oil filter cutter that is a real PITA that doesn’t work all that well and is generally messy. In true fashion it was time to build a better mouse trap, half way through the project my X axis gave up the ghost on my CNC Mill so it was back to cranking on wheels. There was a scrap piece left over so I made a Torque Adapter for the filter since I’ve been using a crows foot, which works but the adapter just seems more suitable. I had seen some DIY anodizing so I thought why not, my anodizing needs better quality control but it will be just fine for what it is
  19. As the gear doughnuts, biscuits, disc or what ever you like to call them cause the plane to sit lower as they age, I fabricated my own jacks but the minimum height was based off a set of jacks from Spruce. My disc were in pretty bad shape and neither set of jacks would fit under the wings, had to roll the plane up on 2”x”12” planks, once the new disc were installed it wasn’t an issue
  20. If your just wanting to touch up a few chips see if a MSC or Mooney can get you the correct color and then see if you can match it
  21. Always good to hear positive stories.... proof there are still companies that take care of their customers
  22. I’ve always said “It’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it”
  23. Like a lot of things, this is one that I have been meaning to make for several years, I have the pump but have been putting it off mainly due to over complicating the coupler, but you seem to have overcome that issue, I like it. What info would you be willing to share on you build?
  24. I use to receive shipments from multiple vendors daily and usually multiple boxes from each, it didn’t happen often but there were times when they would drop of a box for someone else or another shop, if I didn’t know them a quick call to the shipper and then a call to the intended customer to let them I know where it was and that they could pick it or I would deliver it after I closed on my way home(if it wasn’t too far out of my way) A few years ago Pizza Hut delivered a Lg Pepperoni and a Pasta dish, paid for it and went an told the wife the Pizza is here, she hadn’t ordered Pizza...oops, I called Pizza Hut and told them they dropped it on the E end of the street instead of the west end and they should probably get it reordered and delivered, 30 minutes later they rang the doorbell again... I was full so I sent the driver in the right direction
