  1. thats what i heard (TKM 300), i have found a few used ones in the 1200 to 1500 range but even they are out of his range for now. talked to him last thursday and he should be getting some OT in Jan/Feb along with his tax return hopefully hell be able to find on then
  2. That is the current price
  3. Plastic containers are more likely to have a static charge than a metal container. I've drained several planes into plastic containers, use a little common sense and there isn't an issue, if your worried touch the aircraft somewhere on a non painted surface and the container to be used at the same time
  4. Several years ago when getting my E back in the air it was time for the gear swing for the A&P/IA. With him under the plane I was instructed to retract the gear, a few seconds later he was standing by the storm window asking if I could slow the swing (J-Bar) so he could actually see it go through the motion. He was amazed at how quick and smooth the gear worked, guess he was use to high wing Cessnas....lol
  5. I use track up and north up just depends, sometimes I lock the screen and turn it sideways so the right seat can see it. Generally it’s locked screen and track up
  6. "Clock Spring" They can be tricky to re-wind, too much tension and the bind up and break too loose and they won't retract. I've done hundreds of them on pull starters mainly
  7. WingX on an iPad will do "Track Up" or "North Up"
  8. @Whiskey Charlie what app are you using?
  9. Anyone know which radios would just slide into the existing tray and nav head? Sorry, not sure which nav head he has but I assume it's the factory Cessna
  10. Isn't there private company's that offer satellite imagery,? Seem to remember a website you could go to when Malaysia Airlines (MH) #380 went down and help with the search
  11. On mine there is a doubler inside the tank, sealed nut plates are riveted to the doubler and the doubler is riveted to the rib, there is an inspection plate under the wing that allows access from the bottom
  12. I've been thinking about Cerakote, durable and isn't as think as powder coating and more durable than paint
  13. Went with LASAR's which are cloth, don't remember the cost but did both sets of rudder pedals at the same time
  14. Make or buy a shadow box and hang it up in your man cave or hangar.......I'm impressed it worked at all
  15. It looks like it came off the Titanic........ Sorry Paul, had to say it
  16. Not sure if this is where I should be posting or even if I should be. I have a friend needing a radio for his Cessna and he doesn’t have a lot of spare cash being a police officer with two small kids and a wife that just got her degree in education. The radio needed is a 300 Com/Nav RT-328T, which I believe is an original radio from Cessna. I’m not real savvy on avionics but from what I have gathered there are few slide-in replacements as well. So if you have one or a slide in replacement on a shelf somewhere let me know what you’ll take for it. Just trying to help a fellow pilot stay in the air...Thanks
  17. Seem to be Link from above
  18. Never replaced one but like all things Mooney, just a bunch of screws. I would definitely get a plexiglass drill bit for that many holes and use the correct sealant as mentioned above
  19. The dropped pin is Dans Hangar
  20. I pulled the rollers off when I painted the seat bases, all 8 rollers were metallic, brass or bronze alloy. I wonder if they are original as I doubt they've been replaced
  21. Nice..... Who did the printing on the binder?
  22. Give Dan Morse a call at Morse Aircraft (956) 241-9907, located at T65 (Weslaco Tx)
  23. Of the boot or the complete unit?
  24. Snow in palm trees isn’t right for deep s texas
  25. I have used THESE before, but it looks like they are longer available........
