  1. Those clips are a pain, I have long zip ties around mine, they don’t fall as deep and you can grab the tail when they do fall in an odd ball place
  2. Several years ago I busted the eye test at the AME for a Second Class Medical, so it was off to the ophthalmologist for new glasses. Short story long, the ophthalmologist told me that eye charts get close so he wrote a letter giving both uncorrected and corrected for distance, mid close distances. I went back to my AME and handed him the letter which he read and put in my file and handed me my Medical, both Docs said it was fairly common for the vision side of the medical
  3. I'm not sure 1200# would be enough down here in S.Texas
  4. I use to be good at math, but somewhere between sex, drugs & rock-n-roll the personal computer came out and I have forgotten most of it

  10. Sometimes the Rings are in, sometimes the Jack Points are in, and sometimes I remember to remove which every I left in. Would be interesting to know Moonys reasoning for wanting them removed before flight.

  14. My guess would be around the rudder pedals, check the sheet metal in the exhaust cavity, if they don't fit tight exhaust can get between the floor and belly and its open behind the rudder pedals. Might be able to seal the seam with aluminum tape?
  15. He can also weigh the aircraft and get a new W&B, kind of a pain but he'll know exactly what it is.
  16. I would use a sissor jack, they are lighter in weight and can't leak hydrolic fluid. To reduce the chance of knocking the plane off the jack get everything loose or removed (if possible) before raising it up.
  17. I would have your friend re-check his math 62.63 x 1918 = 120124.34 not 120153 so there is one mistake
  18. Your going to need the "Travel Boards" to rig correctly
  19. Suction cup wont work on the wing walk area, I prepped the panel and placed in the tank then used 2 rods that I threaded and pulled into place with them.
  20. I saw about the same, took another 1/2 turn on the rods and was still in specs but took very little to get the J-bar latched
  21. There’s 400 or so in TX, it would be one for the Logbook
  22. I fly a 172G as well, 200+ hrs in it. Getting some much needed TLC now, can't wait to get it back in the air
  23. Mine had the strobe moved from the bottom of the aircraft to the top which left an orphaned wire.
  24. As a rule of thumb, anything below the horizon from your point of view is below your altitude, at the horizon is at your altitude and above the horizon is higher than you
