  1. I believe the VOR check is only required for IFR, every 30 days, and you can keep a record on a used napkin if you want, just needs where you did the check the date and how far it was off.....
  2. When I did mine i placed the blocks under the scales for the mains, very little air had to removed fron the nose tire to get it level
  3. W&B is done with the aircraft level, no fuel and no oil and a plumb bob, all the math starts there. Service Manual spells it all out, I might be able to send a copy if your plane is listed in my manual
  4. Congratulations on good looking F, and welcome aboard!
  5. Sorry, just trying help...lol
  6. Mooney Space
  7. I've spent just under 2 hrs in the back seat of a "C", at 55 yrs, 6'1" and 225 lbs it was too bad in fact it's easier getting in and out of than the front. It did help that the pilot & CFII up front are both vertically challenged so their seats were up pretty far.
  8. So what engages to spin the engine?
  9. But not for long
  10. How many are illegal aliens?
  11. You have to really screw up to get you ticket pulled, flying under the influence, smuggling, etc...... A local CFII (now retired) busted a Presidential TFR over Baylor University, 30 minute ass crewing was all he got, another guy I know screwed up and flew through class Bravo (Houston) 30 minutes with a FAAST team member on the phone, 2 hours with a CFI followed by another 30 minutes or so wth the FAAST team guy......done deal. Down here on the Mexican border there are several Law Enforcement agencies, Joint task forces and the National Guard all flying around so an unarmed FAA guy is a cakewalk to deal with
  12. 2 blown tires, slid off the runway and hit a fenced area.... My 172 won't go that fast
  13. Lube the bendix
  14. Lords for me, i think they were the OEM.
  15. Not sure where I was on the list but Brittian called on the 10th, as mine was already repaired I had them remove me so the next guy could get in line
  16. Called Mooney and they emailed it to me, it was already formatted for 1/2 page
  17. Someone removed the beacon on the belly of mine and installed a new one in the same place as yours on top, looks like crap and at certain angles from the rear the rudder blanks it out
  18. I purchased a nice day planner and pitched the pages, reprinted the POH on heavier paper. Keep the printed POH in the left side compartment, have a PDF of the POH on my iPad that I use
  19. Anyone can taxi an aircraft, A&P/IA's do it all the time. Did he give you any type of citation ? Get your BFR and medical taken care of and don't worry about it. Why does everyone freak out with the FAA?
  20. Did they give you price and turn around time? I was able to find a NOS servo boot and get my step repaired, would have gladly sent it in if Brittian would of had the part
  21. Nope, just as ugly as when it left the factory, I did add a digital OAT and a Shadin fuel flow. Only thing I can come up with is leather seats and thicker plastics
  22. My E is a fat ass, 899# doesn't leave much room for push-o-line, butts & baggagre
  23. The SWTA 201 windscreen mod had side access panels, too bad it's no longer available
  24. I helped a buddy do his C a couple times and he did really well. he wanted to change his oil & filter a get in a few approaches afterwards and asked if I want to go (like I would say no to flying), said I didn't have to do anything but just sit there. Once at the airport he flew around the patch to stir up the oil then I helped remove the side panels and top cowl when he realized he had forgot the safety wire & pliers, so off on foot i went to my hangar to get mine. When I got back, the filter was off and the oil was draining. I happen to glance over at the plane only to notice a pretty good oil slick starting to form around the bottom of the oil bucket, yep the bottom was cracked. While he was cleaning up the mess I hiked back to my hangar for a better bucket. Once back he was just finishing up with the oil slick. Back in my chair I watched as the new filter went on and was asked to check the safety wire job, not too bad (he just needs to work on his speed, 30 minutes for safety wiring an oil filter is kinda slow). As he stepped off the step stool it slid just enough to knock over his old oil filter which was in the new filter box..not as big of a spill but the box was toast. Some how when adding the oil he dropped an open bottle but grabbed it, squeezing the sides and squirting about a 1/2 qt all over the cylinders. him being 20 yrs my junior this time I sent him over to my hangar to get the insecticide sprayer will 100LL for what I hoped would be the last of the comedy of errors. All cleaned up and reassemble it was off for some approaches (4 hrs later). Being the good friend I am and a bit of a smart ass I showed up at his house the next morning with my power washer in the bed of the truck and said come on, we're going to the airport and power wash your floor 'cause it looked like it needed it when we left yesturday
  25. your best bet would be get an A&P or someone with a Mooney that changes there own oil and have them look over your shoulder. Changing your oil & filter/screen cleaning isn't that hard but there are steps to follow to make go much easier. and remember there are no dumb questions
