Mcstealth Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Question for you Southeast Texas guys. Which FBO's do you guys/girls know that consisteltly has a crew car one can borrow? Do you have to call in advance? What is the protocal? The closest airport for my mission is K9X1 know as Williams or North Houston Business. It is not manned, no FBO. The next closest is Hooks KDWH, Lone Star KCXO, or Cleveland K6R3. I am trying to eliminate renting a car for a 1.5 hour turn around to get into Kingwood and back out to fly home. All thoughts appreciated. David Quote
DonMuncy Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Everyplace is different. Some have more than one, and some FBO guys will lend you their personal cars. Some won't fuss with 3 hours of use and some have a strict 1 hour limit. The best deal is to call ahead of time and ask. They almost all have a first come, first serve policy (ie. you can't reserve it.), but only a time or two have I ever needed to borrow one when someone else had it in use. I also consider it good policy to put some gas in it. Quote
Greg_D Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 David, shoot me a PM with the particulars. I'm based at Hooks and can probably loan you a vehicle for a few hours. The crew car at Hooks has a 1 hour time limit, I believe. Quote

All thoughts appreciated. David I needed a crew car at DWH for a few hours and Gill aviation was happy to accommodate me when I called ahead. Also, I've found Galaxy FBO at CXO to be great and not very busy, so they may be a good option too. -Andrew Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 West Houston (IWS) has a few Crown Vics. It's way out on the west side near Katy though. Quote
