KLRDMD Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I'm back in the (Mooney) saddle again . . . or at least I will be soon. I finally closed on the sale of my Seneca last Monday afternoon and by Wednesday the wire transfer had gone though to Adam to buy his '67 turbo F. On Saturday Parker arrived in Orlando to begin the ferry flight to Tucson for me. Due to weather, the airplane is still in Waco but I hope to have it this weekend. I've been out of town pretty much the whole time so I'm not yet itching to fly it. This is my third Mooney and seventh airplane all told. My first Mooney was a 1967 C model (N2903L) and my second was a 1991 Bravo (N9124X). I have over 500 hours in Mooneys and over 1,000 hours total with CFI, CFII & MEI. I don't charge for instruction as I only do it for friends (Mooney Space members qualify) and only do it for fun. Most of my time is spent teaching in another area (anesthesia). I figure I only want to teach something if there is at least some possibility of death Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 It's a nice running airplane...and being able to get 30" of MP pretty much anywhere you want is great too. I'd suggest polishing that prop just a bit more . On another note, I did some local IFR flying of my own today at 3000' and had a 40 degree crosswind correction on the ILS at 2300' which changed to a 5 degree crosswind correction by the time I was at 1700' for surface winds out of the south. Clocked a 58 knot tailwind at one point. 76 degrees up above the clouds too. Now a nice random fog has moved in. KACT 090051Z 18008KT 1SM BR OVC001 12/11 A2963 RMK AO2 SLP031 T01170111 Quote

KLRDMD Posted December 14, 2009 Author Report Posted December 14, 2009 Parker got the airplane as far as El Paso yesterday. I'll retrieve it from there on Wednesday. Quote
georgeb Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Why'd he stop in El Paso? Need any Help with anything? I'm based here if you need any help. George 9488v Quote

KLRDMD Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 I picked up the turbo F today and flew it home. There's no need for me to post pictures, just see Adam's section in the gallery Quote
KLRDMD Posted December 26, 2009 Author Report Posted December 26, 2009 I've had the Mooney about 10 days now and have put about 12 hours on it. Of course I love it. Quote
KLRDMD Posted December 26, 2009 Author Report Posted December 26, 2009 Quote: JimR That's great, Ken. It looks like Adam did a very nice job with it. I bet that that turbo F model is a really interesting Mooney to fly. Did Adam happen to mention to you while you were buying the plane what was going on with his latest Mooney restoration project? He found either a C or E survivor in a barn somewhere that was very pristine, but he hasn't been around on MooneySpace here lately to give an update on how it was coming. Quote
