Joe Zuffoletto Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 IFR and IMC in the clouds from Albuquerque to Denver today. FL190. 50LOP. 13.5gph. No CHT above 320. 195KTAS. I love my Mooney! 3 Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Sounds like a fine plane to me. Quote
Nathan Peterson Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 A sweet machine indeed. Glad you had a nice flight. Quote
jetdriven Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 What an amazing airplane, Joe. Now, who wants a TN A36 Bonanza? No way! Quote
KSMooniac Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Well, the TN A36 would require + 4 GPH for that same speed, but it gets you a lot more cargo/people room. That is a trade for some to make... I of course choose Mooney and am hoping for a TN upgrade at some point on my J. Quote

Here's the FlightAware track of yesterday's flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N3833T This plane never ceases to amaze me. Have a great weekend, everyone! Quote

johnggreen Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 I normally baby my Bravo with fairly low power settings, but. Yesterday, I flew from MS to Manassas, VA with my wife. We were in a hurry to get here so I pushed it up to 2400/31". still far short of 2400/34" max cruise. At 13,000 we were truing 195 knots burning 17gph and 340 degree CHT's. The Bravo does that even with TKS. I could have pushed it up over 200 knots easily or gone to 19m and kept 195 with no more than 14 gph, rop. Do you realize how much money i would have to spend to duplicate that in a twin? The best part is that I get to do this with a Lycoming engine with will probably go to 2000 TBO without any major repairs. I would like to have a twin for the room, but this performance is hard to walk away from. Jgreen Quote
carusoam Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 John would the Acclaim be any better? Turbocharged Continental, IO-550. The nice rounded air intakes look nicer... Best regards, -a- Quote
fantom Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 The nice rounded air intakes look nicer... . .....and per many engineering wind tunnel tests are much more efficient, i.e., functional. Quote
driller Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 Very nice. Joe, noticed your old Encore for sale up in Canada a couple weeks ago. I remember viewing your panel upgrade awhile back. curt Quote

driller Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 It was in the Controller listings with a Canadian dealer and tail number C-GAGQ. It's not there anymore. curt Quote

RobertoTohme Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Hi Joe, When you get ready to step up, keep in mind my "M30" which you have seen is for sale... It just does 300 kts TAS @ 51 gph, though.. Look forward to see you around my neck of the woods soon. Regards. Quote

Quite interesting.. Quote
carusoam Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 Ruh Roh, Astro. Checking the details... Your post fell under an Acclaim thread and that plane is an M20J. You might want to start a new thread specific to your request or append it to where it came from? Best regards, -a- Quote
michæl Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 Thank u, I realized that but I replied to the prior post that referenced that tail number.  Sorry about that.. Quote

Quite interesting.. Something is strange about this plane. It currently has a U.S. registry N9149N based on the serial number. Although it was also register in Canada and at one point Austria. It is HIGHLY unlikely this plane has only 154 hours on it. Who says they own it? The registry shows a company in Iowa. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
michæl Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 Thanks for the info - I thought it was strange also.  It looked really interesting if it was legitimate.  I don't know how to bump a message to another topic, so if anyone would like to do that, please do.  I'm new at this message board stuff. Quote
