Will.iam Posted Sunday at 09:33 PM Report Posted Sunday at 09:33 PM Lance I sure appreciate the time you take to look up individual model data and when changes were made tracked down to the individual serial number! That is truly a gift you have given us on mooneyspace to keep the record straight. Whether it was a torque specification or upgrade availability or AD, you would give the exact planes that would apply. Thank you. only mooneyspace gave me the personalized advice I needed to get a Mooney. Like buy the best plane you can afford at that time thus I got a 252 and paid the premium over a 231 not realizing at the time, how much I would love that automatic wastegate controller until I had it. I enjoyed relating with other CB and their philosophy that the 252 was the intersection of best speed on the least amount of fuel burn of the fleet which was my biggest goal. Although I have been flying all my life I had never owned my own plane nor had I done any maintenance on the planes I flew. Mooneyspace gave me the knowledge to troubleshoot issues and what things to check for constantly. That also helped focus A&P to the specific issue which lowers cost in troubleshooting he did not have to waste time doing. It was a deep dive that obsessed every free minute of my time for the first few months of ownership but helped me vastly improve the safety of my airplane with knowledge that used to take years for people to figure out and search for before the days of online chats like mooneyspace —that now has it all concise in one searchable forum. It is a blessing for any Mooney owner to have access to. Thank you all. Will.i.am 2
Falcon Man Posted Monday at 12:20 AM Report Posted Monday at 12:20 AM Moonyspace has helped me work my way up to my forever 1986 252! I grew up maintaining/rebuilding motorcycles and automobiles. Then I discovered airplanes and couldn't stop wanting to work on them. As a student pilot in the early 1980's I helped the local FBO in Twin Falls, Idaho convert a Mooney from wood to metal wings. Seeing how the airframe was built, etc. I was hooked. I have rehabbed Mooney's G/E/231 and 262, and finally worked my was into my 252. You all on this forum have been an invaluable source of information and are keeping the Moony dream alive - THANK YOU!!!!! 3
DXB Posted Monday at 12:50 AM Report Posted Monday at 12:50 AM Looking back, I'm just past 11 years since my first post in November 2014, just after I bought my M20C as a first time plane owner, 2 months before I finished my PPL. I was probably lurking for a while before as I contemplated what plane to buy as well as how to manage the prebuy and initial maintenance. In the early years, I read the current and old topics voraciously and posted very regularly. My posts are a fairly accurate diary of every question or issue I've ever had with my plane. I've learned a tremendous amount here and also tried to pass it on in replies to threads in the early years. Now I read and post less, but I still find a lot of value here. It seems that overall activity on the site has also gone down over the last few years. A subset of the more prolific posters and highest knowledge folks have left. Perhaps this partly reflects our shrinking fleet of aging planes. Perhaps the various Mooney-related pages on FB have taken a chunk out of the traffic here; however, in general I find those pages much less useful overall. 2

So cut it out! David, you were the first Mooneyspacer I met in person. I bought an Encore in February 2014 and had Dugosh do a few things to it after I bought it. You'll probably remember that in April 2014 you drove me from 5C1 to Kerrville to pick up N40FM when they were finished. I appreciated it then and still do! 1

Just took mine from St George UT (KSGU) to Houston TX and back a week ago. As they used to say (for those old enough to remember Western Airlines) "The ONLY way to fly" Hi Cliffy, hope to see you around next time I pop into SGU for breakfast!

bonal Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago (edited) It’s been 12 years since we bought our D seems the only thing that flies faster is the time that we experience in life. Didn’t know about Mooneyspace before we purchased joined some time after when we were sorting out the issues on it. Would search google about a problem and it would always list this site called Mooneyspace sooo… I guess I should just join into this group of fine folks. Sadly like others have mentioned there have been a number of regulars that have left for various reasons and the site has suffered some because of it. If any of you are still visiting it would be nice if you would make a post just to say hello and let us know how you’re doing. Still love flying our D/C and after a good bit of initial work it has turned out to be an extremely reliable fun to fly aircraft. 2013 shortly after purchase Edited 11 hours ago by bonal 1
