Ronnie Posted September 22 Report Posted September 22 Good afternoon, My name is Ron Stowell of Granbury Aviation Services in Granbury Texas KDGJ. Has anyone had a recent fuel tank real seal done? If so can you provide a real estimate on labor time for it?
Steve Dawson Posted September 22 Report Posted September 22 I had the tanks on my 1990 Bravo done by Edison at Wet Wingologist in Ft Lauderdale exec. three years ago and he did a great job. Cost was under $20K and that included extra work in the installation of new drains and removing and bucking new rivets. And he was on time. I've also heard very good things about Paul at Weep no More

Steve Dawson Posted September 23 Report Posted September 23 My mistake, I believe the total price was $17K
kortopates Posted Thursday at 05:59 AM Report Posted Thursday at 05:59 AM Both Paul at Weep no More and Edison at Wet Wingologist do excellent work. Paul is generally booked out well over a year while Edison can generally get you in within 3 months but is more expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PeteMc Posted Thursday at 06:27 AM Report Posted Thursday at 06:27 AM Are they still doing tank repairs at Willmar Air Service (BDH)? I had my tanks done there when they were in the process of the guy that did the tanks breaking off from the new guy running the shop. The original guy that had been doing the tanks for years did an excellent job, but I'd never let the guy taking over the shop touch my plane again. If they're still in business, I'm guessing the tank repairs have a new name.

kortopates Posted Thursday at 11:19 PM Report Posted Thursday at 11:19 PM Additionally Paul now runs the Oasis Aero https://oasisaero.com/about.html - he has taken over the original shop in addition to his Weep No More business. He has a partner Eric that is an instructor/mechanic but I assume not associated with the failed business that first took over Bruce's shop.Correction - Paul and Eric are co-owners of the two entities while Paul runs Weep no more and Eric runs Oasis.

As far as I know they're still selling spatial interiors through Wisconsin Aviation - see https://www.jaegeraviation.com/home I haven't had any recent experience though.
