All,

A&P is installing a new headliner from a two piece solid mold that has to be not only trimed but the holes have to be cut as it's a solid piece.

Hes asking that any pictures of a complete headliner that could show exact placement of horns and lights would be appreciated. Can anyone with a 84j please share the layout of the headliner where the horns and lights are mounted and which ones go where?

Why isn't he using the old one as a template?

Old one is gone. The interior was out when I got it. Previous owner died, wife was selling, son threatened to have me murdered. I didn't stick around too long...

I posted some photos there. https://mooneyspace.com/topic/51672-overhead-console-replacement/#comment-920451

My headliner is out but I'm happy to take more photos if it helps.

I didn't see headliner shots there specifically. Any chance you could also shoot both sides of yours? Bonus points for little post it's that label what they are? Like lay one that says gear horn, stall horn, dome light, etc.

Hard to miss - the pictures are in the first post on that thread.

I'm confused. The overhead console photographed there is the "headliner". The gear horn, stall, etc. will need to be wired up correctly and that may not be the same in all airplane. They are simple sonalert speakers. The wires in mine are not market and all the same color so an AP will have to test and wire appropriately. The part manual will give you what other parts you need and has diagrams.

Ah yeah I remember now. It had the highly detailed engine compartment. I always wondered how that all worked out.

Not great but that's a story for another time. Still trying to get it home.

Also in the headliner I saw those pics on first post. Did they show where the horns and speaker and two lights go? That's all I saw on the cannon plug was 2horns 2 lights and a speaker. Did I get that right?
