Look at Lightspeed website comments, it sounds like a non-standard connector. At least not a USB standard USB.
Suggestions:

1. post a photo of the port here in case someone recognizes an industry-generic plug (still don't know the exact wiring though)

2. contact Lightspeed, and/or Sporty's if you bought it there

That cable is a UAC usb connector.  The links in the above post 'should' be for cables that will work with the DZ.

I really hope Lightspeed had a really good reason to use this type of usb connector versus a more widely available and common type cable end.  This type of connector has been around for at least 7+ years and has not gained any significant adoption.  If I recollect, Apple tried awhile ago and shelved it.

I've have two DZ headsets and and of course needed the cable whilst on a trip that I didn't have with me.  PITA trying to find one and ultimately didn't.  Hide a few extra cables in your aircraft if you use DZ's.

I had high hopes for the DZ to be an evolutionary improvement over the Zulu 3, but imho it just isn't.   Annoyances like this goofy unusual cable and a number of other small operational issues make me prefer my Zulu 3 for usual stuff.   The only real advantage I've found with the DZ is that with the cable I can leave it in the airplane plugged into ships power and not worry about having to keep fresh batteries in it.   The penalty for that is that it'll say, "Battery charge full," in my ear right when I'm trying to hear a clearance from ground control, which is also annoying.

My recommendation for people considering the DZ is to save some money and just buy a Zulu 3.
