I know this may sound stupid, but I have dual voltage. The guy that sold me my first stack had a 28V Merlin so I bought some stuff from him. Now I have 430W 14V, GMA audio panel 14-28V and I have my KX165 28v. I know GMA can handle 14-28v, but am I ok with both the 14 and 28v radios going into the GMA wired at 14v? I probably need to get a 155, but the converter is already installed and my KX is beautiful and almost new. I just don't know if the GMA has internal switching that's either 14 or 28v or is it any input up to 28v... I'm not looking to do a smoke test

I’m not sure I fully follow, but if you have a 28v only radio you do not want operate it on 14v. At best you won’t get the rated power output, at worst it will take out some voltage regulators that are being stressed since they can’t up-convert.

Says he has a converter, so I assume it’s a 14 volt airplane with a few 28 volt radios.

The Garmin GMA345 audio panel, as an example, will operate in either 14 or 28 volt systems without any switching or configuration changes. There’s no problem with interconnection of the audio lines between the various boxes of your avionics.  The KX165 is limited to either 14 or 28 volt power, with different model numbers for the two voltage options, which is why you have the boost converter to provide it with 28 volts.
