I owned a newer Mooney that had these fuel caps. They are much easier to use, don’t scratch the wing, are cheaper to replace and carry a spare, and are just a lot nicer.
I found an example of where they had been installed and showed it to Brian Kendrick.
He installed them two weeks ago, and figured out how to do it with a lot less of an area affected than we thought.
This is a great upgrade, and a must have if you are planning on painting.
Parts are on the shelf available.

Can I ask a stupid question? What in the world is green 100 octane? It does not have the prefix “LL” so I assume it’s a non leaded 100 octane? The solution to all of our problems? Go back to green gas?!

Pretty sure the green gas is the old high lead stuff, as opposed to the "new" low lead 100ll. Pre 1970s stuff, no idea if it's still sold anywhere today...

Gotcha so it’s not low lead (LL) bc it’s high lead. Thought I solved a major aviation challenge there for a minute…. :D

Great upgrade!
But he could have applied a little touch up paint to the new rivets - something you can do and get a paint match at an automotive paint shop.

No STC required, just a logbook entry.  I am not sure where he got them, but they are in stock.

And the plane is going to have the tanks resealed, and then will be repainted.

I remember the green 100/130 at a military aero club overseas. Is it even still sold in the US? Not sure if it's a better distillate as well or simply contains more lead.

Green is the old high lead 100/130 AVGAS.  Up to 1.12 grams per gallon versus 0.56 for 100LL.

Red - 80/87

Brown - 91/96

Green - 100/130

Purple - 115/145

Anyone have a part number? Does it work on M20Ks with the inner fuel flap?

If you have Shaw style caps, it should work.
They used the same rivet holes.  A little bit of cnc magic helped.

“Replaced Lt & Rt fuel filler assemblies with current production fuel filler
assemblies pn 300 CAP2F. Updated fuel selector ring for 50 gals, reset
G1000 for 100 gallons and added FMS to POH. Ref. Mooney M20TN
parts manual.”

Good question- the K are a more complicated install because they have anti-siphon filler necks that the long bodies do not. Whether it changes the install i am not certain but it’s a more significant alteration.
