FlyingDude Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Hi, Are oil cooler lines made of stratoflex 111? The mooney part number doesn't specify that. Thanks. Quote
Gee Bee Aeroproducts Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Per the spec , Teflon with firesleeve black blue We install the sleeve before the last fitting is installed, others shops can’t per there tso spec. This is why the firesleeve is so oversized to slide over the fittings. We identify per oem spec with lubrication . We can mark all hoses with nomenclature. Titeflex is tso on the PT6 engines 4750.00 to 9775.00 per assy as fittings are silver plated with double lock wire holes . I can add std fittings with lock wire holes per your spec . We cover are 304 tubing in the same method for specific applications. I don’t use orange as1072 sleeve either. 1 Quote
Andy95W Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 (edited) Aeroquip 303 with 491 fittings. Installation mandrels are also available (I have most sizes.) After assembly, you should have it pressure tested to be legal. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/aq303.php Edited February 7 by Andy95W Quote

Per that spruce site "The Aeroquip 303 and Stratoflex 111 are equivalent to each other, and some have used parts interchangeably". One reason I asked is that these hoses are rated to 250F. Isn't that tight for oil temps if the red arc is 240F? 1 hour ago, Gee Bee Aeroproducts said: Per the spec Which spec? There were no Teflon hoses in this plane in 1967. Teflon is type D. Type C is good enough for these planes. Sorry, not spending 4AMU on an oil hose. Quote
Gee Bee Aeroproducts Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 (edited) Read the Lycoming bulletin on oil cooler hoses Chime in if your in the hose business. Teflon is ten year rubber is five year Teflon more flex 25% smaller o.d. Firesleeve required Edited February 7 by Gee Bee Aeroproducts 1 Quote
Jsno Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 I had the Aircraft Hose Store make mine up. They were a good price. Quote
corvar01 Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 When I replaced all of my fuel and oil lines in my M20F I used the AE466. It has the firesleeve integrated and it makes the hoses a bit smaller and easier to deal with. And I purchased the hoses from: https://aircrafthosestore.com/ Aircraft Spruce might be a bit cheaper. Gee Bee Aeroproducts Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Ae466 is same as AE366 with integrated sleeve Use adel clamps to prevent wear , if the wear goes to the braid it’s not repairable. Slip on allows removal and retest to retag with new sleeve if the shop has a faa rsl certificate. I hate the brown in both mfgs Titeflex has orange, but is not priced for the GA market. Quote
Delta Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 Gee Bee Aero, can you share the number of the Lycoming Bulletin that specifies Teflon hoses? Lycoming Service Instruction 1274B seems to indicate that Lycoming switched to Teflon hoses (just) to eliminate the shelf-life limitations. It should be imprinted in the metal sleeve. Thanks. On 2/7/2025 at 1:24 PM, Jsno said: Aircraft Hose Store make mine up Thanks. Quote
jetdriven Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 we get 124J hoses from Aero hose shop in granite city IL. They are OC, no stated life limit. Some are 15 years old here, still in service. 2 Quote

Get the ones @jetdriven mentioned. No need to dig though part numbers - many have been resized from the old factory spec anyway so the original part may not fit your setup. Just send Aero Hose Shop your old ones to duplicate with 124JJ - low profile, integral fire sleeve, indefinitely long service life - far better than rubber hoses for not much more money. I just used them to replace all oil and fuel hoses firewall forward at time of overhaul. It was ~$1400 total. They were great to work with and had a 1 week turnaround. Contact Ben McNamara. (I have no relationship to this vendor - I was just pleased with their service). Quote
