So then it would seem that the newer Mooney's with non-WAAS G1000 without an upgrade path to NXi are also on borrowed time.  Every other aircraft manufacturer that installed the G1000 over the past 20 years, as far as I know, now have an upgrade path to NXi.

American General AAG5 Tigers with G1000s and Columbia 400s with G1000s never even made it to WAAS upgrades, let alone NXi upgrades/

I’ve always been able to get a new PC to run old s/w like that using compatibility mode. You can experiment with different setting but going straight to XP service pack 3 should work perfectly for this.

I use a current windows 11 computer to cut my cards. Have not had an issue until i got a spare nav card as i wanted to be able to cut a card for the next database cycle and thus just swap the cards when i was out at the plane the next time. I then tried to cut the other card as a spare as a backup. But garmin database manager will fail when you try that. You can swap cards every new cycle but can not have 2 cards on same cycle so as to keep people from sharing a subscription as the old gns units do not check for a subscription code where as the newer units do.

You are correct.  Both Tiger Aircraft LLC and Columbia Aircraft went bankrupt in 2007.

As far as I can tell Tiger Aircraft only built four (4) AG5B with G1000 during 2005-2006 before ceasing production.

An unknow number of Columbia 400's were built in 2006-2007 with the G1000 before bankruptcy.  Some show up for sale with WAAS upgrade.  After Cessna acquired the design & assets, the 2008 "Cessna 400" models came standard with G1000 WAAS.

I have a working 430W just removed from my panel, listed in the classified section. I was hoping to get 4K for it, but since I had zero interest at that price point I might be too optimistic.

I was just curious what folks here think a good price would be.

I see listings on eBay asking 4-7k. I doubt now any are selling in that range.

I think my target market is the guy whose 430 died, and wants a quick replacement. If your 430 died today how much will you want to spend to replace the 430 with a used unit. At what point do you bite the bullet and upgrade?

Thanks for the input

Mark

Do you still have it available? I do need two GNS430!

Because of a huge electrical problem with my Ovation 2, I need to replace all my electrical instruments. I am looking for two GNS430's

You can see what the actual selling prices were on past auctions on eBay.   That will tell you what people are actually paying.

Hi PeeJee

My 430 has already gone to a new home.

What kind of electrical problem toasts all your instruments?
