pilot-as14 Posted January 28, 2024 Report Posted January 28, 2024 I'm currently repairing the carburetor. I ordered replacement parts according to the old parts catalog, but the company says, I should write the current parts number. Can someone send me the latest parts catalog from Marvel-Schebler MA-4-5 in PDF? Overhaul and mantenance manuals would also be very welcome. Many thanks for the reply! Quote

pilot-as14 Posted January 28, 2024 Author Report Posted January 28, 2024 I have given parts at https://msacarbs.com, for example as follows: "A16-A48" and they say you can't do anything with this number. Is it not easy for us Europeans to navigate the US market Quote

I don't know anything about Marvel-Schebler carburetors, but it is possible that you can no longer purchase some individual parts. You may have to purchase a "kit" containing the part or parts you need. This link from McFarlane shows kit numbers for several Marvel-Schebler carburetors: https://media.mcfarlaneaviation.com/documents/marvel-schebler_referenceguide_brochure-11x17-halffold_v4_02.pdf Referring to the PDF, if your carburetor is m/n MA-4-5 and p/n 10-4893-1 (there appear to be several carburetors with m/n MA-4-5), a gasket kit p/n is 16-646. That's exactly a problem: you don't get any single parts you need, just expensive KITs including parts that you don't need. Quote

I no longer have those web pages in front of me, but I think that gasket kit I referenced was around USD15. Quote
pilot-as14 Posted January 28, 2024 Author Report Posted January 28, 2024 I saved the table, thank you. Let's see what MS says. Quote

N201MKTurbo Posted January 28, 2024 Report Posted January 28, 2024 I rebuilt the carb on my Cessna. I had no problem finding individual parts. Spruce, McFarlane, Air Power all had any part I needed. Quote
