Tommooney Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 I sold my old 2 blade prop online. It was advertised as buyer pick up but buyer is too far and wants shipping help. What is best way to ship 2 blade from CA to FL? I am hoping I can steer buyer to a service or shipping company that has experience. I am in SoCal OXR and can drive it an hour or so. (My local Mx says he just puts it on a tire in a truck and drives to a shop so not helpful.) Thanks' Tom
N201MKTurbo Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 Take it to the UPS pack and ship store and let them deal with it.
N201MKTurbo Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 Seriously, build a pallet the size of the prop and bolt it down, then build a cardboard box on top of it.
N201MKTurbo Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 Make sure you bill the buyer for your time and materials. 1
philiplane Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 It needs to be crated properly, then any freight carrier will take it. Build a box with 1/2" plywood, if you're handy. If not, ask your local A&P if they have a box, or know someone to build one. You can get a used prop box from a local prop shop. Those are often made from heavy-duty cardboard. Fedex freight is a good choice. 2
