mooneygirl Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Time for some Mooney Pride: http://www.aopa.org/aircraft/challenge/index.html Get up there and vote! Quote
201er Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Cool. I voted! Happy to see M20 there. Not going to reveal what I picked Quote
carusoam Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 I think I may have voted twice, Go Mooney..... -a- Quote
DrBill Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 My Vote is in.... Registered to get the email reminder too. Quote
231Pilot Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 DaV8or might have voted, but the post above is mine, another one of MoonySpace's "let's switch user name" incidences. But yes, I voted. Quote
aerobat95 Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 I cast my vote....happy to see the M20 Quote
DaV8or Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Just voted. Kinda goofy. Pairing up totally dissimilar aircraft and saying pick one. I couldn't vote for the Mooney because I'm in the Southwest region. Quote

201er Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Who needs a Bonanza when a SuperD and a Mooney end up winning? Quote
mooneygirl Posted March 21, 2012 Author Report Posted March 21, 2012 The Mooney won the AOPA voting in its class. Now we are up against the J3 Cub....http://www.aopa.org/aircraft/challenge/index.html Quote
Mooneymite Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Ya know, I love my Mooney. As a matter of fact, I love ALL the Mooneys, but up against a J-3! Now that's like competing against motherhood and apple pie. As a matter of respect I'm not voting.... Quote
Cruiser Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 with the Piper Cub getting 75% of the vote against the Pitts and the Mooney getting only 57% of the vote against the Husky it is going to be a tight contest. Make sure you vote and support our great airplane. Quote
201er Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 I don't know if I can pick a Mooney over a J3. Why couldn't it be any other plane to choose against!? Quote
pjsny78 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Mike trade in your plane for a cub. How can you defect? You are the founder of nj mooney club. Quote

Hank Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Dave-- I suspect, like many of us, Mike chose the aircraft that suited his mission and is practical. Whenever I see a Cub, I respect it as a flying piece of history. But it doesn't fit my mission--it's too slow, has too short a range and won't carry enough people or my wife's luggage. It will be an interesting round of voting, to be sure. The "nostalgia effect" will be significant, even among those like me who have never flown a Cub. But I'll be voting for my plane! Quote
201er Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Oh no doubt I think a Mooney is a more suitable airplane to own. However, flying a cub is just fun! You're not going anywhere or doing anything. Just fly to fly. There's something really special about it. So although a Mooney is my kind of plane, it's really hard to say it is a favorite over a cub. Anything else and I wouldn't even hedge for a second. The cubs will get the vote from everyone else so I guess the least I can do is help Mooney lose this category with dignity =) Quote

mooneygirl Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Vote vote vote. Just hit the Pick your Favorite airplane button after you vote and vote again! According to AOPA we have an "uphill" battle to beat the Cub! Quote
