Georges Posted August 29, 2022 Report Posted August 29, 2022 I am in Portugal and about to replace the shock absorbers on my plane. Needless to say that the special tool for compressing the rubber disks is not available around here. In an old post somebody was mentioning that he had made his own tool, would it be possible to get a drawing or photos of that tool? Quote
carusoam Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Welcome aboard Georges! Andy has you covered for pics of the nose gear…. The main gear can use a more simple method of using the plane’s weight to compress the donuts… Using the search function may find a few more details… Best regards, -a- Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 If you take the assembly holding the disks off the plane, you can do it with an arbor press. Quote
65MooneyPilot Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Here is another shock disk tool that a resourceful Mster made. I saved the pics. 1 1 Quote
