I stand corrected after watching the interview with him this morning. He seems like a very level headed, common sense type of person and did an excellent job saving his and at least 2 other lives. While he definitely has "some knowledge" of how planes work, he never had any formal flight training. He kept a level head, didn't panic and followed detailed instructions from help on the ground. Good job sir! And the pilot is expected to live and be released from the hospital this week.
